he was a very good songwriter who appeared to have mental issues we wont truly know about and i honestly dont care to know. it wouldnt change anything
at the very least, he had a distinct voice that will never be replicated. in utero > nevermind > bleach. i really enjoy listening to these albums and my favorite one changes depending on the day

I bought a book with transcripts from his diaries, he sounds like he grew up in a difficult situation with his parents and never really grew out of that "teenage angst" phase, he sounds pretty naive sometimes but in a childish, pure sort of way
a good songwriter, not a terrific musician but one that could touch a soft spot or two with his lyrics
he had several issues, bot ethycal and mental, fame and drugs didn't help and then he offed himself
I sometimes wonder how he would act or be perceived in this modern world
