Could someone please explain to me why she's being upheld as "the voice of a generation"?
She doesn't sing about social issues or anything all that introspective or profound. And judging from the personality she displays in interviews, she certainly doesn't seem all that "wise beyond her years".
Her brother writes the songs and they are very relatable for teenagers
Joshua White
You guys think she says the word "nigga" in private?
Carter King
instagram comments are proof of the npc meme
Eli Richardson
because she pretends to be sad despite being more well off than most of the world just like everybody else pretends to be sad despite being more well off than most of the world
Nathaniel Hernandez
Literally who
Colton Gomez
Not going to lie, when I watch her interviews I keep waiting for her to slip out an n-bomb or two.
Sebastian Nelson
>Could someone please explain to me why she's being upheld as "the voice of a generation"? Interscope marketing bots. :^)
Chase Rogers
On the contrary, I can't stand her and am confused by her image and why everyone is so eager to shill her.
Brandon Rivera
>Billie wears baggy clothes because she is thicc underneath What did they mean by this?
Gavin Reed
>those deep profound words aren't even hers Fucking pottery.
Asher Jenkins
I wanna fuck her so bad
Jace Rivera
she 17
Isaiah Cooper
I genuinely thought we reached the peak of garunteed replies with 6ix9ine but I was so wrong
I live in a jurisdiction where the age of consent is 17.
God forbid I should know what laws apply to me. Let's clutch pearls together
Jaxson Nelson
>She doesn't sing about social issues or anything all that introspective or profound. And judging from the personality she displays in interviews, she certainly doesn't seem all that "wise beyond her years".
That's exactly why she's being upheld the voice of her generation, user.
This. Her tour didn't "sell out" and I'm sure there will be plenty of tickets available the week of her shows.
Alexander Morris
I'm in my 30s and clearly remember when music critics were calling Britney and Christina the "voices of a generation" back in the late 90s. Nothing new.
X made no mention of her when he was alive. Why does she claim the two were such good friends?
Cameron Ramirez
Britney came up in sort of similar circumstances (ie. parents who groomed her from stardom from childhood) although in her case her parents were trailer trash with ambitions instead of connected entertainment industry people.
Ian Butler
Oh yeah. Anyone who was on Mickey Mouse Club became an industry plant.
Chase Sanchez
I'll grant you that at least Britney's trashy image fit her and was a natural extension of her upbringing while BE's weird Soundcloud rapper chasing seems completely illogical for a sheltered rich white girl.
Kevin Reed
She's friends with several SoundCloud rappers though.
Jaxson Lopez
Willy Eyelashes
Gabriel Fisher
She's playing stadiums.
Colton Stewart
Fuck this pathetic plant whore.
Gabriel Robinson
scumbag chad made cooler looking pants
Samuel Walker
>She doesn't sing about social issues She literally does.
xanny is about ten drug use.
when the party's over, when the party's over and listen before i go are about depression.
Andrew Jenkins
the way she says xanny makes me vomit
Adam Wood
Stop wasting my time you cunt and check out the venues she's playing in. She's barely doing 10k for the whole tour, and that's mostly industry buys.
Cameron Adams
What do you mean?
And how do you know the label is buying her tickets?
The other three are just boring as hell. If I ever saw her perform live I'd probably fall asleep.
Bentley Perry
Since apparently she can't project her voice or sing and just has to mumble through every song, I don't see how she could sing for crap in a live venue.
Grayson Ramirez
But how do you know her label is scalping the tickets? She's the no.1 artist in the world right now.
Camden Ortiz
#1 artists in the world don't play 1200 capacity venues
Camden Watson
How many venues is she playing per city?
Blake Reed
Are you implying that the generation she sings for (zoomers) aren't shallow, apolitical, obsessed with clout/instagram, and leech off of black popular culture from the mid 2000s?
Jack Sanchez
>She doesn't sing about social issues or anything all that introspective or profound. There's your answer
Corporate buys can deal with that easily. Now it's possible in some of those tiny NYC venues you might get enough New York hipsters or whatever to fill the tickets.
Anthony Murphy
What makes you assume the label is scalping the tickets?
Samuel Mitchell
A Reddit meme. Never mind.
Samuel Reed
billie eilish be like *industry plant noises* lol
Ian Sanchez
I didn't say the label, I said corporate sponsors kind of like how they buy unsold NFL tickets so a team doesn't get blacked out on local TV if they fail to sell out a game.
Jason Hughes
She's not even a plant though. It's a huge stretch to call her one.
Josiah Cook
Painful.
Connor James
Looks like the Interscope spambots have already flooded the comment section.
Ethan Peterson
She seems like a try hard "im depressed" kind of girl who 14 years old will claim that she "gets it."
She is like Lorde except with less authenticy.
Kevin Rodriguez
>tfw she's the voice of my generation >tfw never even heard of her until she started popping up on mu Is this just because I don't follow e-celebs or is it because I was born in the second half of the 90s and I'm too old for this type of music?
Aiden Roberts
Hip hop is the most popular genre right now, it’s like years ago when pop singers either went dubstep or whitewashed indie
Elijah Stewart
Britney Spears was on the Mickey Mouse club when she was young
David Myers
>when the party's over, when the party's over This is a breakup song and according to genius even Billie doesn’t think it’s a sad song
Jack Turner
Most of this board is generation Z, 1997-onwards.
Jackson Green
the niggerification of popular culture has to end at some point...right...?
Kind of like how Lorde's Royals was about worship of fame and materialism that you couldn't tell whether or not it was a glorification or a condemnation of It's all vapid garbage
>She doesn't sing about social issues or anything all that introspective or profound What the fuck, that's a plus as far as I'm concerned. The last thing I wanna hear is some teen/20-something popstar's opinions on that shit.
Owen Watson
She says nigger with hard -er in private
Nathan Nelson
? Lorde's Royals was clearly rejecting the pursuit of fame and materialism, most importantly obscene wealth
