Metalcore and it's sub genres and offspring...well, it sucks pretty much. Wouldn't you agree?

The chad emo vs the chad scene
those are both scene cringe, theres no real emos, its hardcore kids stupid ass
Were you there when emo and scene were huge? You literally couldn't tell the difference between them fashion wise.
wow 2002 was soo long ago
Well then were you a child at that time?
I mean I just posted the image because I find it mockingly funny, but yes I was there, I was in high school when the floodgates opened though I was a bit older than those kids so I didn't fall into the trend myself.
Real Emo" only consists of a couple REM songs. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Drive, Nightswimming, We Walk (the only song not from AftP that can be considered emo), and Man on the Moon. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO MICHAEL STIPE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE
you have to be 18 to post here kid, enjoy your b&
There's a lot of shitty metalcore, especially those awful bands that basically just sound like edgier pop punk/post-grunge like Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, and Killswitch Engage. I intensely hate that stuff.
HOWEVER, there is some awesome metalcore that's very closely related to genres like crossover thrash and crust punk. Examples:

The Hot Topic emo scene of the 00s was a typical, awful, manufactured fad. However, as pretty much everybody who's really into rock music knows, emo has a long lineage as an underground genre, and there's some amazing stuff. Examples:

Scene music was always despicable. There was never a good side. But now there's a very self-aware revival movement happening that's pretty funny:

sounds like someone never got top from that one girl in 8th grade because you said Gaia online was gay. saw you do that in algebra-- needless to say the top was sloppy good.
Ahh so you are underage.
>tfw 2002 was 34 years ago
that would be 2007, stupid
A7X is actually pretty good but it's only because they're falsely classified as metalcore, only their debut has any of those trappings whatsoever.
If I can say anything good about KSE it's that at least their clean vocals had power and weren't nasal teen fodder, either of their vocalists could have easily fit in in an actual melodic metal band like maybe power metal or something.
scene bands started around 2002 u stupid fuck, look at fall out boy, taking back sunday, my chemical romance. you were still in your dads nutsack you underage faggot
Emo descends from post hardcore and it started in the 80s, back then it used to be called emotive hardcore
Stuff like rites of spring, sunny day real estate, the get up kids, etc.
wtf are you retarded 2019-2002 isnt fucking 34 years you stuppid shit its 32 you idiot
You never answered my question user.
oh sorry, yes i was there zoomer
>Were you a child at the time
I would just label both as attention whores.
Yes, I would agree, metalcore and anything even remotely related is fucking gay. If you listen to that garbage, are are indeed 100% faggot. Thank god Im old enough to have not personally known or interacted with emo or scene fags. If I did, I would have made fun of them relentlessly, just like I did with nu metal faggots and wiggers.
What a badass you are!
pretty much, very disappointing genre
Darkest Hour is good
Converge sucks
In my neighborhood nu metal people mainly feuded with wiggers for well being wiggers, wiggers usually won if they had actual black friends, and were usually bullies themselves. Ironic considering how much rap was in nu metal and the fact that most nu metal dealt with being bullied, but yeah most of the nu metal kids I remember were like every cartoon bully.
I think we grew up in the same neighborhood lol. I've never understood the rap influence in that shit. It's not just nu metal either, just take a look at six feet under, there are rap riffs and beats on every fucking song. Shit tons of other bands do it too, you'd think they'd realize what they're doing, but I guess they're all too dumb, or actually like having that kind of influence in their music.
I think it became the thing to do for a lot of reasons, before it became cliche it was seen as being experimental, but the fans themselves were mostly white trash kids who didn't even understand it was aping rap shit
I mean all those kids wore sagging JNCOs pants calling them "jeans niggers can't own" not realizing they were basically just posing in black fashion rofl.
>Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL
So turns out Three Cheers is actually real emo?
>EMO BELONGS TO MICHAEL STIPE
>NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE
So turns out REM is not alt rock?
Here's how the jnco kids turned out lol, the song starts about a min in
excuse me the horrors are a psych band
>The Horrors
>scene
Mathcore is pretty based
>emo has a long lineage as an underground genre
>posts sunny day real estate, a band that has appeared on jimmy fallon's show
I posted 7 examples. 2 have gotten a little exposure. Don't be a stupid, obnoxious prick.
It was more like 2004-2007.
>tfw mbdtf came out 18 years ago
metalcore started as a hardcore subgenre not related to emo or post hardcore at all
it's best releases are in that style
what people think of as metalcore is what popped up in the mid 200s as "melodic metalcore" and some combination of that and other genres like post hardcore, screamo, and even pop punk
You sound like a poser. I could always tell scenes apart from emos.
Why can't people bother to look at 90s metalcore?
I hate myself for being into black metal when scene and shit was popular. I'd give everything to go back to those times and listen to Silverstein and The Used with a qt emo gf.
Gayest shit ever
Exactly what i used to say, goddamn.
underrated
(you)
I still think stuff like Saosin, Silverstein, Thursday, Circa Survive, The Used, Eyes Set To Kill, and A Skylit Drive are good. I never liked black veil brides or any of that shit though.
this.
I wish both would make a comeback desu, I don't really how everything turned out to be.
I feel like this just means you like death metal over hardcore.
fr, i was such a snob in that time, i wish i just had fun with some emo chicks of my town and banged them
fuck me
