Why are there so many music streaming services? Spotify has you covered if you want free music, I think Apple Music is better if you're willing to pay for it, and I guess Tidal if you want to pay extra for high quality (even though they don't have gapless playback, which is egregious in my opinion), but why are there all these others? Who uses them?
Why are there so many music streaming services? Spotify has you covered if you want free music...
Tidal does have gapless playback now, I believe
amazon music is for boomers who still pay full price for CDs. Google Play Music is for the biggest degenerates of society who still buy mp3s
Oh, do they? Good. They didn't when I tried it a few months ago.
It's not a feature you enable or disable, it's just enabled no matter what. Noticed it when I listened to that Billie Eilish album.
Really mediocre emo pop
I mean I was trying a bunch of services to see which ones have gapless playback and which didn't. At least on my PC, Tidal wasn't gapless. Amazon isn't either, nor is Pandora. I can't remember if I tried Deezer or not. Google Play Music does have gapless playback though.
Apple and Spotify are the only good ones, the rest are obviously way behind
So it's Apple Music vs Spotify?
Well Spotify is ofc the OG and their layout is clear, Apple's organisation is very confused and muddled, I would've said Apple based on artists but desu Spotify has 99.9% of all artists so doesn't make a difference
***Obvs you have to go Spotify after what Apple did here:
>“Apple requires that Spotify and other digital services pay a 30% tax on purchases made through Apple’s payment system, including upgrading from our free to our premium service,” said Daniel Ek, Spotify co-founder and chief executive, in a blog post.
>“If we pay this tax, it would force us to artificially inflate the price of our premium membership well above the price of Apple Music. And to keep our price competitive for our customers, that isn’t something we can do.”
>He said that if Spotify chooses not to use Apple’s payment system, to avoid paying the commission, the company applies “a series of technical and experience-limiting restrictions” on consumers running its streaming service on the rival tech company’s devices.
>Examples cited include limiting communications with Spotify customers and “routinely” blocking app upgrades.
>Spotify argues that its complaint to regulators is not about seeking “special treatment” in its global music battle against Apple but the same treatment as numerous other apps such as Uber and Deliveroo, which are not subject to the 30% app store charge.
tl;dr — Apple unfairly trying to stifle competition from Spotify
Boomers dont pay for music, zoomers are the retards who pay a giant corporation to rent music lmao
Zoomers and boomers both listen to same amount of new music each month, the difference is that boomers pay more each month to buy their new music in physical format i.e. vinyl, CDs etc — whereas zoomers pay less each month by streaming
This.
It's between Spotify and Apple Music and they're both the same but Apple wants monopoly over everything so go Spotify
based and redpilled
apple
spotify reeks of socialism resentment
I like Apple more because of the nice little thing where if you go on most artist's pages they'll have a few "essential albums" for you to check out if you're just interested in getting into that artist. Plus a few playlists of their essentials and deep tracks. Great way to get into people you've heard a few songs from, but you want an overview of what they're about. And overall Apple Music feels more album centric, which I like.
boomers just torrent shit, zoomers are the ones who non ironically makes posts like op asking which streaming service you use.
lmao.
How about none.
r tard
u have to say spotify
it's one of the greatest capitalistic launches of the 21st century, revolutionising the music industry in a good way, made music far more accessible and it's the future
applefags like to unfairly beat down competition in underhand ways because they can't compete fairly with spotify because they were late to the party
>it's one of the greatest capitalistic launches of the 21st century
Hopefully they'll actually make money someday.
Tidal Gang we out here
I just use Amazon because I have Prime already and I can pirate shit they don’t have.
Haha their playlists are widely accepted to be trash and their "essential albums" selection is dubious at best, your better of with Spotify's "This is [specific artist]" tracklists, they're much more accurate
Also I've been a paying user of both, and Spotify definitely feels more album centric than Apple, makes sense since Apple is more of a cash-grab company, they promote singles because they generate more interest = more revenue (both for artist and Apple)
So yeah, overall Spotify
also u gotta consider the underhand tactics at play from Apple trying to gain a monopoly over the streaming industry
Haha they're doing great mate cheers
musically.com
But again if Apple continue with this underhand 30% tax against Spotify then who knows what'll happen
>thinking the biggest streaming service in the world doesn't make money
Imagine being this autistic lol
>their "essential albums" selection is dubious at best
Some of them are a little wrong I think, but it's good if you have no idea where to start with Mogwai, but they put one of them in front of you.
You're better off doing research online, google best Mogwai albums and get a list from a reputable music media publication, I know it takes longer but it's worth it because you're more likely to get into the artist, Apple's suggestions aren't great
Fuck streaming services. Just download the music.
Hey retard if I wanna listen to a song while I'm not at home I don't wanna have to wait to download it.
The point is that you pay $10 a month for the convenience of having a ton of songs for you to play whenever
this is the most zoomer reddit opinion I've ever seen on Yea Forums
HOLY FUCKING CRINGE
I don't get the stigma here against renting music. Not a fan of pirating all my music and I'd spend way more money if I bought even 10% of the albums I listen to instead of streaming with a smaller collection of purchased great albums
don't forget Deezer which i literally only use to download high quality flacs not available anywhere else from a lot of artists, mainly mainstream ones. tip from the wise: get smloadr, you won't be sorry if you're into downloading music. i even bought an account for a short while when i thought i was locked out
lol spotifyfags
