I don't understand what these threads are about and I am most likely not welcome here.
But I decided to post anyway.
On one of Mark Robinson's hard drives, there is a 20 minute version of this song, but he refuses to release it.

This makes me feel sad.
ahhhh, yes - but as to the question of style . . .
why don't you feel welcome?
all you have to do is post drum-centric information . . .
whos Mark? is he lost at sea? what year was this made?
lofi like putting your cousin in the band, but fun
insert some half baked poetic quote about the Sargasso Sea
wtf youtube
im a bit drunk
in case anyone was curious . . .
this still needs discussion:
so you know - these threads started as a means of examining different drummer's techniques - getting an essence or principle...
its an incomplete task, tho I consider phase one to be over as I get the basics of the moeller technique (the other part of the threads is learning and discussing technique - but there is never any discussion as non one posts in these threads)
the coming phase is a discussion of phrasing , rooted by techniques and rudiments
Mark played in a harDCore band.
Then he named his label after a prog song
Then he played in a power pop band
Then he played in a new wave band
Then he played in a post punk band
Now he goes on stage with his wife in Boston and plays 30 second radio and TV jingles that only played in the DC area during the 70's and 80's
That was recorded around the turn of the century.
I'm not sure I have enough tastebuds, but I'll try to stay focused on drumming.

Looks like Blakey ran circles around Ginger and had him thoroughly psyched out. Thing is, I like the easy emotional resonance of the constrained compositions that Ginger plays in his bands a lot more than creating some dramatic, sophisticated sonic sculpture made to be coldly studied because I'm still a fucking mongoloid.
fuckin cool
ive never heard this shit before
history thanks you
gingers a odd case
most of cream's acclaim is due to people simply not being used to a drummer laying it on really heavy, fro what I can tell
and ginger knew how to swing, so he
could hang with the jazx cats
ginger is a bit of a bridge between genres
blakey is acknowledging pieces of the different genres, but still working in his preferred mode of jazz - which has a diferent set of showstoppers technique-wise
and his idiom doesn't quite match the rock idiom of ginger, tho hes trying to make it do so - which was probably a mistake
its a great fucking dialogue for those of us coming after
Thanks, man. Ryan Rapsys and Vin Novara are two of my favorite drummers ever. Their work is kind of hit or miss, but both Euphone and 1.6 band are pretty fun.
Here's another one of my favorites, David Weinkopf
