Nevermind was a masterpiece. Nobody expected it to become as big as it did. They were definitely not industry plants.

But was bleach good enough to do a European tour in 1989?
kurt was a fucking hypocrite sellout popstar who made an image for himself as a depressed and lonely junkie talking shit about the very corporate music industry he took advantage off for financial gain and fame and how it was all about the music and how real he was while raking in millions and becoming more and more disconnected by the day. bleach was his genuine vision. he realized all of this about himself after it was to late and he couldn't bear it. that's why he killed himself
>umm Billie Ellish isn't a plant, err or wel EVERYONE is a plant hehe
Lmao nice try Billie fags, Nirvana were not industry plants
How was he a hypocrite tho lol
>bleach was his genuine vision
You're retarded, In Utero was. Bleach was like them playing The Melvins and shit
reminder that kurt was never happy with in utero
>literally came up from nothing
>poor as fuck up until Nevermind miraculously took off
OP is either baiting, or doesn't know what the term "industry plant" means.
both are shit
>deluded fanbase
It's not like they were instantly playing stadiums throughout Europe, they were playing dozens of small venues
To be an industry plant one must have connections in the actual music industry, Kurt Cobain’s family lived in a shitty hick town and he literally went from being a janitor of his old high school to being one of the most renowned rockstars of his generation. You have no idea what you are talking about.
These
OP, buy a shotgun and Kurt yourself.
A major label signing an artist because they see marketable potential in them is not the same as an industry plant, dumbass
More happy than with Nevermind. Geffen interfered with both albums, just less with In Utero.
yeah this isn't cwairo or shillie eilish whose parents were in the industry already
Smaller bands still do this all the time.
If you guys want to get involved with the rock and roll world go find a city with a scene and some labels and connections.
It's highly unlikely you're going to get anywhere from your tiny home towns.
They were on tour with Tad you retard, Nirvana wasn't the only band Sub Pop sent to Europe.
Imagine being this dumb.
Thus why they first moved to Olympia, then Seattle.
I will admit it's easier with the internet.
Record at least 3 solid tracks and send them around to venues and what not and book a tour. You will find SOME connections.
It's totally doable.
Probably, connections will pretty much make or break any band looking to book bigger gigs and worldwide tours. Getting to know people in the scene you want to break into is massively helpful. Many of the bigger labels have all the connections a band could need, but you pay for all of that out of your own pocket, contrary to what some people believe. Many venues will outright refuse bands that don't have the right connections. Travel is expensive enough, but when your label hire a limo of their own volition, then send you the bill later, it starts to look less and less appealing.
If you're in the united states start with house shows and save up a few hundred bucks for gas. Get some food stamps if you need to. You have to have some kind of a car or van. Sleep on peoples' floors that you meet at the show. Worst thing that happens is you sleep in your car for a night or two. If this is your first time and you're nervous just make it a shorter tour. There's TONS of "indie" labels out there. Make friends.
Small clubs too of course, I just think house shows are the best.
>industry plants
Their early shows are VERY well documented way before the fame
my aunt lives in Aberdeen Washington so I visit every now and then, no fucking way these kids were planted, they were just in a shitty small town and had nothing to do but jam
Stop focusing on this.
And start figuring out how to do this.
THIS is making it.
THIS is what you want to be doing.
Make THIS happen.

this is almost totally backwards. None of this is right from start to finish. You contradict yourself by saying that he deliberately created an image to make money, and then killed himself when he realized that shit about himself. Even if that is the case, it would effectively confirm his depression (self hatred) meaning it wasn't an image.
Imagine going from carrying the Melvins' gear and practicing in old meatlockers, to having thousands of people sing along to your songs at Reading.
I literally can't even begin to imagine that.
I don't think it was worth it.
I wish they'd never signed to Geffen.
t. Doesn't know what an industry plant is
They also did coke with one of their fans while sleeping on their floor. Imagine being able to tell your friends you did coke with Kurt Cobain.
