Loved it. Big fan of Quelle Chris, everything he's putting out is near Aoty quality crazy consistency. Seeing a lot of him and Billy Woods being mentioned in the same bracket however for me Quelle is head and shoulders above

love that AAL record
thank you for reminding of the weyes blood record, the harmonies/chords i heard on the single blew me away. and that slide/pedal steel(?) sound kicks so much ass.
Gonna listen to some Carla Bley now. She rules. also ++ for Shabaka, that album is at least as good as his other groups imo. Zorn is fun too
Christian Scott record was fun but honestly I haven't heard an American jazzer do the hip hop beats under jazz as well as the London scene does. Yusef Kamaal and everyone associated with them just does it better imo.
pink floyd... dark side of the verve
epic
bump
>lol i expected Plaga to sound like TVU i was confused. this is dope thank you
Yeah only realized I fucked that up just now. I meant there is a band called The flowers that are TVUish. You can even listen to a compilation called Earcom vol.1, that's where I found them

just curious what don't you like about the solange record?
Honestly, I like her quite a lot. But I don't like her new direction. I think she's just trying a bit too hard and I preferred her earlier sound.
I'm probably a bit prejudiced against it, to be honest, so don't take me that seriously.
hi
Hi, what's your favorite Bach recording?
no that's a totally fair take, i don't wanna call the new sound polarizing but i think contextually it fits nicely in a listening sequence with Earl SRS and Quelle Chris Guns. True EP was very underrated also, ASATT one of my top 10 of the decade.
Well, considering the context I guess it makes more sense. I'll listen to it again with a different mindset.
Thanks user.
And yeah, I love ASATT too. I do believe that she's a remarkable artist.
thanks for good discussion user
any 2019 recs?
Are these supposed to be what you're listening to lately or all time favs
recent listens
Actually came here looking for 2019 music because I've been a bit out of touch.
Currently listening to Sharon Van Etten's new album. So far so good.
Was surprised she released new music as her last album (Are we There) came so long ago and it was a personal favourite.
It wasn't something I expected.
You Shadow is one of my fave songs off the new SVE album. Enjoy, it's a good one. Also the new Big Thief record out on May 3 is one of my most anticipated of the coming months. The two singles out right now (UFOF and Cattails) are great.
It was a great album. I'm not sure which song I enjoyed more, I'll listen to it a lot more I think.
I'll be sure to check that record out, user. I enjoyed the singles. Thank you so much for the recs.
