nice calming yet eerie music
Hehe vagina
I put Sunshine Recorder in a DAW last night because I was bored, when I reversed the intro I nearly shit myself.
Excellent, BoC make music like no other. People say this is their "creepy" album but desu aside from TCH all of their albums have this unnevering yet calming sound that I can't put my finger on.
i didn't care for it at first compared to other BOC albums but it grew on me. now it's my favorite of theirs after 35 tracks tapes and a few old tunes 1&2.
Pretty good for driving desu senpai
Kinda makes me feel nostalgic about the prohibition era
I love this album. It has a weird nostalgic vibe for me, which is strange because I never listened to it or anything like it in my youth. It reminds me of summer days turning into summer nights in my backyard. I remember the first time I saw a sunset and was cognizant of it, I went into my kitchen and said to my mom, almost scared, "mom, the clouds are red." The album is beautiful and eerie, but eerie in the way that childhood and innocence is eerie, not in a "this album is cursed omfg it's so scary" creepypasta way that I see posted here sometimes. I love this album. It's the only album which, when I listen to it, I can remember nearly every detail of hearing it for the first time. A long drive home around 4 o'clock, with the sun in my eyes the whole way, on a road I hadn't drive before, a long New Hampshire highway with hills of grass and trees by the highway. No other Boards of Canada release or any IDM album has gripped me in this same way, even the ones I enjoyed I've only enjoyed passively. I love this album. I heard somewhere that Elliott Smith listened to Magical Mystery Tour every day for inspiration while making his albums. Whether true or not, I might do the same for Geogaddi when I make mine. I love this album so much. I have never even listened to it high, yet it has such a profound effect on me I don't know if it could get any better that way. Sorry for the rambling block of text, but I really love this album
I appreciate that it looks like pizza if you squint your eyes.
upload it user
Please post
Really beautiful write up, I feel similarly. It really does capture that childlike curiosity and fear like you said. While all BoC albums can be considered nostalgic, none of them take it on the way Geogaddi does. The memories it causes to resurface can definitely be interesting.
It took me years to accept it because MHTRTC was the album that got me into IDM and expanded my music tastes as a whole, but I now realize that Geogaddi is the better album, production wise.
Twoism is better
Thank you. I really wish I could make music that made memories resurface the way this does. It sounds like it’s always been around in a weird way
I’m kinda the opposite. I couldn’t appreciate MHTRTC because of Geogaddi
...
Shhh, let her go back to sleep
she cant sleep when somebody posts this album, shes scared of it
Alita isn’t scared of anything
Sounds cool to be honest
Anyone know any music that's close to BoC?
Faex Optim and Boreal Network come pretty close.
Aphex Twin for redditers
Yeah, but it caught me off guard when I reversed it lol.
I also listened to it reversed earlier by accident and it nearly sounds the same.
the only song that really gets me is Dawn Chorus
how do i get into the rest?
Tycho is like a plebbier version of boc but still decent
aphex twin is aphex twin for redditors
i like it
It is very good but in my opinion it does not stand out as their obviously-best the way people here purport. All of their main 4 studio albums are excellent and stand beside one another in my opinion.
It does kind of sound like Tomorrow's Harvest.
i found this guy awhile back. definitely super inspired by BOC.
