If you have to force yourself to like a certain genre or song because it sounds hars or bad then it’s a shit song or genre. The best songs ever written by the greatest composers are all easy listening and with wonderful and simple , nice melodies and harmonies. If something listen to something that you don’t like till it “clicks” you got memed by this shit subreddit.

>it's all about the image!!!
You're generalizing. Also there's a difference between just plain white noise and (good, that depends) harsh noise, you fucking clueless retard.

Also p4k gave Metal Machine Music a really positive review.

or maybe the opposite is true and you're a pleb, no one knows

Anyone else listen to In Praise of Shadows by Lasse Marhaug? I thought it was pretty good.

Noise is an art statement and not a music you listen to. Story behind noise and reasoning is interesting. It's like Malevihc "Black Square" i guess. Knowing the context makes it interesting by itself it;s simply a black square.

We like experimentation and textures. Just because it's not enjoyable to you doesn't mean we don't love it.

Not true

You don't even have to listen to it huh
You just have to memorize the titles and copy whatever people say

I mean after all, the story and reasoning behind noise is pretty interesting, like Malevihc "Black Square". The context alone makes it interesting.

I listen to it and enjoy it. You're just a pseud.

That's a very wrong and surface-level interpretation of things. Statements have to be said only once. That's why Malevich painted only one black square. But noise musicians and Malevich kept producing, exploring this new field, creating a sort of a new artistic language. Literal thousands of noise albums aren't a statement, they are a language.

Not really you need to listen a bit to get the grip, but regular listening is out of a question i think.
Regularly? I heard a bit of noise and the....."harshest" track are literally like a slightly organized white noise.

But I don’t force myself to like it.
I just like it

>regular listening is out of a question i think
keep telling yourself that, pseud

>the best songs are all easy listening
lmao learn 2 Stravinsky fucking pleb

I listen to brakecore which some described as random cacophony of noises so i get where you're coming from. But Harsh noise is too much IMO. Maybe new stuff is actually better than the things i listened to, but things i heard in the past weren't fit for continuous listening.

I bet you don't drink beer because "it doesn't taste nice", pussy

>but things i heard in the past weren't fit for continuous listening
maybe not for you, but I like it

Well good for you. I just state my opinion about harsh noise.

I'm not even into much harsh noise myself, but its ridiculous to say they're pretending just because it isn't for you.

well then don't go making broad pseudo intellectual statements like, "It's more about the statement than it is about the actual music." It's meant to be enjoyed just as much as any other type of music, and just because your brain is too small to comprehend a noise doesn't mean your rationalization of why other people might like it is correct.

...

>well then don't go making broad pseudo intellectual statements like, "It's more about the statement than it is about the actual music."

It is for me and if you're listening to harsh noise to feel smart than i see why i don't like it.

>if you're listening to harsh noise to feel smart than i see why i don't like it.
says the guy who says "it's more about the statement than it is about the way it sounds."

And what's with that? You make statement to state something. Not to look smart.

Ive become desensitized somehow to a huge range of music beyond just mainstream. Its not something i forced on myself, I just almost only like it if its weird in some way now. Sometimes ill listen to visceral fast paced hard electro and rock, sometimes ill go for electro funk/80s future/synthwave, sometimes I like classical stuff like bach, chopin, mozart, but mostly I just like deep dark ambience where its just like one drawn out tone, I dont know why but its calming to me. For a while i got into legit noise music with drugs but found too entrancing and sometimes theyll throw in something harsh out of nowhere and it would ruin it so i dropped it... and im sober but still have unconventional tastes.

implying you have anything meaningful to say in the first place implies you think you have some kind of awareness of the state of things and an ability to think outside of the box in order to say something new. Therefore if you think you have anything meaningful to say, and you make music "for the statement," it is inherently pretentious, because it implies you are smarter than everyone else before you. It implies it is you and only you who had the ability to come up with that idea and bring it to fruition.

Have sex

You are making up complex reasoning for a simple thing. You can state something because you feel like it. Beside where i said that the freshness of statement is required. Your statement can be repeated but it may gain traction for multiple reasons. We are talking about music, how many times the statement was repeated in a song but the song gained traction because of a form in which statement was presented? You don't have to say meaningful things, you don't need to say things to be smart, to get popular or for any other reason. You only need to feel like it to state something. Other stuff comes as an extra.

People listen to shit all the time so I don't get why are you acting like people who listen to noise are just pretending.

I want to do something useful with this thread and recommend you some good noise albums that are more accessible but you sound like a massive faggot

>if you have to acquire a taste for it then it's bad
13 year old normie-tier opinion. actually kill yourself, you fucking mong.

what a disgusting, fat fuck

I don't know what to say to you man. If you don't enjoy it, because you like listening to it, you just don't enjoy it, and you're a pseud if you say otherwise. Noise music is still music. It's meant to be listened to and enjoyed, not just to exist as some kind of aural "fuck you." If you treat it as just a statement, you're missing the point.
