There was some interest in one of the threads yesterday in doing a Chicago meetup. This wouldn't be a shitty /fa/ meet up with pictures. I'm thinking we can get together and go to a show. There's a good chance that some of you will be complete autists, but most of you could be cool. Lets see if we can get some traction. Post your location and we'll see if we can make something happen.
Cool, I get to meet a bunch of Yea Forumstards Sounds cringey as fuck desu
Matthew Phillips
>There's a good chance that some of you will be complete autists lmao says the Yea Forums meetup arranger
Colton Gray
4chins meetups are cool. Autistic as fuck, but cool. Nuggetfest is the big fucking autistic thing and it's fun as hell. Yea Forums goes to a concert would be interesting.
Nathaniel Taylor
I feel like there’s a funny story here. Pls share
Bentley Wright
I mean Pilsen (not home atm) but I never wanted to meet a fucker like myself irl let alone the rest of you fuckers.
Asher Young
i went to a Yea Forums meetup back in 2011 and it was as you'd expect. lots of weirdos but a ton of girls. i still keep in touch with a few to this day.
Mason Collins
What percentage of the girls were above average in looks? Genuinely curious.
I feel like I would show up to a meet, but pretend to be a passerby, that way if the group of people looked too weird, I’d get the fuck out
William Fisher
they were all about 5/10s. i was only 20 at the time so I didnt partake in the drinking and hookups. yes there were a few sperg guys and girls but for the most part everyone got along and had a good time despite only meeting for the first time in person
Lincoln Myers
speak write?
Matthew Parker
I'd go, but I am in Los Angeles
Ian Young
who /austin/ here, btw i dont want to meet any of you
Alexander Wood
I would but I'm not a loser Don't meet up with anons. it's not fun.
Jose White
What are the chances i can get my dick sucked at this thing
Andrew Fisher
cringe
Caleb Kelly
at least 65%
Jayden Baker
Honestly, 5/10 average is pretty good compared to my worst assumptions (I live near a convention center, so I always see a bunch of dorky anime cosplayers). Was this in Chicago?
Oliver Anderson
/milwaukee/ here, can I get into your club?
Andrew Sanchez
>ywn hookup with shitposting qts at an exclusive mu meet up
this was in columbus oh. remember this was also 2011, "old" Yea Forums culture. before incels, memes, autists, lonelyposters, and ironic depression were things.
Jordan Cook
this wasnt even a mu meetup it was a Yea Forums meetup from a /state/ thread before /soc/ was even a thing yet.
I think I’m about your same age. I only started using Yea Forums a year ago or so.
I had internet for the first time in my life in 2010. Came across Yea Forums in 2011, first thing I see is some pedo-shit. Exit the fuck out. Avoid the site for 7 years due to believing it’s a forum for pedophiles.
Anyways, I’ve been wanting to ask this, but people fuck around a lot on here, so I never thought my question would be answered seriously.
What was early 2010s Yea Forums culture like? You’re not the first person I see on here to say how things used to be different
Parker Hall
ive been here since 2007 less politically charged less agendaposting more varied memes and not just a carousel of pepe, wojak, etc people were more thickskinned overall but i think this is more a shift in culture overall and not necessarily just Yea Forums getting worse.
William Ross
politics were nothing like they are now Yea Forums was the main board rarely did people venture into other boards like they do now a lot of shitposting with a ton of different memes. tinychat/omegle camming was hot then Yea Forums now is just a porn board and it wasnt nearly like that before
>people were more thickskinned overall This is definitely a big thing. (You) farming turned it into a pissing contest of everyone just trying to one up each other.
Joseph Lopez
posting some more images i have from my 2009-2011 Yea Forums folder. i had so many images i just started sorting them into yearly folders to keep it organized. you can really see a shift in culture from one folder the next as you get closer to today's year
