do you guys listen to remasters or the originals for songs with both
i usually listen to the original first and then the remaster
sometimes i like the remaster more like with Big Black

Remasters are always awful. Originals are how it was meant to be heard. Comfy and kino.
but sometimes theyre cleaner bro
and maybe the mastering artifacts weren't supposed to be there and the remaster is the true way it was meant to be consumed
this
remasters are cringe. not as bad as Kanye editing his album after releasing it but still cringe.
make this post without any meme words and i will consider your opinion
but what if its actually that the original is the true way to consume the music because it still has those artifacts
I listen to the remaster in the left ear and the original in the right ear
patrician
you have a problem with meme words, kiddo? Unless an artist specifically did not have the technology to make their music sound how they originally wanted it to so they just released it as is at the time, then remastering could make some sense. Otherwise, in most cases you're inserting an engineer who has their own opinions and tastes of how something should sound and they "remaster" it accordingly, a lot of the time without the artist to approve of it. I would rather take the artist's original product, regardless of whether it "technically" sounds incomplete or not. I don't want some rando screwing with the original artistic vision.
So, like I said before: cringe
cringe
cringe
no you
and what about things like noise reduction that takes out all the noise from the poorer quality microphones they had at the time
what if the artist wanted their music to sound cleaner but couldn't
>removing noise because hurr durr it sounds bad
grow a pair, timmy
BUT WHAT IF IT WASN'T INTENDED TO BE THERE AND THE ARTIST HAD NO WAY OF REMOVING IT AT THE TIME>???
>what if the artist wanted their music to sound cleaner but couldn't
you can't read, I see?
Ok, so you can't read. I literally said
>Unless an artist specifically did not have the technology to make their music sound how they originally wanted it to so they just released it as is at the time, then remastering could make some sense.
original versions over remasters any day of eternity.
I fucking hate Rick Rubin
yeah, a lot of people do, friend. including me.
