These are some really good ones
youtube.com
you know it to be true
Brilliant pics, but it needs PiL. I'd vote Poptones.
I like that album a lot but I never got the immense praise for the bass playing to be honest, it's good but never stuck out that much for me. I always liked those noisy guitars that sound so mixed in the background the most.

Fair enough, I'm a huge fan of dub influence in bass, so Jah Wobble is a big one for me. Also really love Gang of Four's bass for the same reason, thought they're nowhere near as good as PiL in the dub influence
>no
It's common knowledge
>Modest Mouse - Dramamine
12 Notes with 2 variations never felt so satisfying. The guitar part is pretty fun too
no. it's based on it. it's not a ripoff.
That's unironically a very good song. I understand why people make fun of Green Day, but Longview is great.
the bridge in Fleetwood Mac's The Chain
Well duh it's not exactly the same. Michael literally approached Darryl Hall years later and apologized for stealing the groove.
I agree, I probably should have included them and a bunch of other great post-punk bands.
Fucking love the bass tone on this album.
The bassist from Diiv who used to post here said that that is his favorite bassline ever.
Litterly everything by Primus.
Say what you will about these guys... but this song is fucking DOPE
New years' day
the smith have some damn good basslines in general
Diiv has a bassist?
I think they might have thrown him out after it was revealed that he posted here but I'm not sure anymore
Good Times is THE answer. Not my personal favorite of all time, but goddamn is it undeniable and unforgettable.
Simon Gallup has so many great basslines...
Fools Gold is the only correct answer
You posted the wrong version...

Flea is a genius
Asobi Seksu's Lions and Tigers has my favorite
Agree with most of this list except National Anthem. It sounds like a bassline a 12 yr old would write
