I found her new album to be passable. It sounds like something i would have been really into when i was 16. I do like the ballads on the project, namely "when the party's over", and "i love you."It gonna be a project that i rip a handful of tracks and throw into a playlist. Its not a project that id listen to front-to-back, but not many are (despite that being my preferred way to listen to an artist's work). Her brother's work shines through on it, and i can appreciate it without it really being my thing. i give it like a 65/100 for my personal opinion, but i like her personality and "brand".
Also, the whole thing against industry involvement pre-debut makes me uncomfortable too, but in the age of self-promoting and it being easier to grow organically, i feel that record labels are going to double down on in-house talent/cultivating a marketing plan around a "plant" of their preference. Personally, i agree in that it was some what spotty, but i did like the production on the tail end of "all the good girls go to hell".
