Is the logical concluding point for rock music?
Is the logical concluding point for rock music?
This album does not just fuck
It rapes.
that would be highly illogical
Iggy and the Gun Club are far better examples of white boys pulling off the blues than the Stones ever were.
Nah. The Stooges boiled rock down to its essentials, then took it through a weird, warped hell, which is really cool. But things could still go deeper and darker.
I'd say the real rational concluding point is the no wave movement, which was just pure nihilism and noise, kind of taking rock to its breaking point. That said, there are other genres that took rock in other directions, and leave you with a sense of "where can things possibly go from here?" One is goregrind, which took metal to its noisiest, most horrific extreme. Another is post-rock bands like Tortoise, who take it almost out of rock territory and into something that more resembles jazz.
No Wave is just fake jazz though
No. The no wave group The Lounge Lizards were fake jazz. Most of the no wave groups have absolutely nothing to do with jazz.
Are you cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs? No Wave has nothing to do with jazz? Do you have any idea what Ornette Colman or free jazz or the downtown scene was about? No Wave is literally just Suicide + Downtown + Free Jazz + 70's punk nihilism
Nah, that's LYSF
lol Funhouse is one of my favorite albums of all time but that's just not true. Exile on Main St. alone puts Jagger/Richards on an almost untouchable pedastal as far as peak blues rock goes
James Chance is pretty jazzy
based response
Nice try samefriend
you have a good point, which is why I haven't responded
Thanks!
actually he's not lol
I don't know the stones doing blues always sounded derivative to me and over exaggerated. The stooges didn't try to copy blues so directly.
idk, Iggy Pop said that he visited and played with these old blues guys, and felt like he'd never be quite right for blues since he wasn't an old rural southern black guy. So, with The Stooges he wanted to create a kind of blues for suburban white teenagers... which seems like a good description of punk
Yea that's exactly my point. The Stones were a copy (those Beggars Banquet songs where he sings in a fake accent baka). The Stooges took influence but mutated it to be relevant and original.
This is my least fav between self titled/raw power don’t even bother replying
C'mon m8, Raw Power is a 7/10 after the first track and you know it
Wrong

Nah, this is
>when you're hungover as fuck but they still have to film your scene
Dad, you're embarrassing me.
You are a fucking idiot and I'm not even a no wave fan
