those are retarded umbrella terms. There's plenty of dance music with more subtlety than epic bass drops, and most idm is just a more experimental form of genres like ambient techno or jungle

one other thing, btw - despite the similar names, EDM and IDM are not comparable things. IDM is a single genre of electronic music. EDM is a massive umbrella for tons of diverse genres, including house, trance, techno, wonky, jungle, breakbeat, drum n bass, dubstep, and others.
Also, aside from the things I just mentioned, to bring up a few others, there's downtempo/trip hop/acid jazz, synthpop, electropop... lots of stuff.
