What is your favorite set of 3 consecutive albums by the same artist?
For me, it is Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt. Pepper's.

I don't even know how it's possible to make 3 perfect triple albums in a row, but they did it

Attached: tumblr_olqin3leO21r71lico1_1280.png (1280x1810, 344K)

based and girapilled

Big Star

Scott, Scott 2, Scott 3
Or
The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust

I'm partial to Outside-Earthling-Heathen. Any string of 70s albums by Bowie for me gets messed up by some of his more mediocre releases

Oracular Spectacular
Congratulations
MGMT

Portrait in Jazz
Explorations
Sunday at The Village Vanguard

Fleet Foxes
Helplessness Blues
Crack Up

I Love You, Honey Bear
Pure Comedy
God's Favorite Costumer

Am I the only one who still remembers of Montreal?

I wish that I liked The Glowing Man and could say the same, but Glowing Man it just feels like a total rehash of To Be Kind and brings nothing new to the table imo. I remember being so disappointed that summer when it came out.

I think that The Glowing Man is quite different in a subtle way from To Be Kind. TGM has a much more meditative, trance-like quality to it, with long sections that stick to a simpler groove. TBK also has a bit of a SFTB quality to it with its samples and kind of collage-like feel, whereas The Glowing Man has a much more unified sound.

Oh, oops. Hours is not as interesting to me, so I guess that string doesn't work. Heathen isn't an amazing album, but it just has many solid tracks, kind of in a similar vein as Lodger. I really like the sound of it, especially how Bowie sings in a much deeper register than normal on some songs

Vovin
Deggial
Secret of the Runes

There are some tracks on it which are really good (Slip Away, Sunday, I Would Be Your Slave), but a lot of them just sound like fairly standard indie rock tracks. It's a problem with all of his post 90s albums - with the exception of Blackstar.

Wild, the innocent and the e-street shuffle, Born to run and Darkness on the edge of town are a far better Springsteen trio than yours as together it provides a far more coherent coming of age narrative beginning with the pure optimism and nostalgia of the first record - still under the very palpable influence of van morrison - to the darker realism and compromise expressed in Darkness of the edge of town.

Take it From the Man!, Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request, Thank God for Mental Illness.

around 1992-1993 Bowie released a great soundtrack for a British tv show called The Buddah of Suburbia, for me that is the point when his career recovered.
And this soundtrack may provide you the link for the 3 good albums chain

youtube.com/watch?v=xHPIAFaKd1I

had to scroll through the entire fucking thread to find it

Ridiculously underrated album of Bowie's, easily rivals the stuff he put out in the 70s. Untitled No. 1 is one of the best songs he ever did.

Oh shit, my bad. Waiting for the Sun is actually better as well.

>Take Me to Your Leader, Vaudeville Villain, Madvillainy

Gish
Siamese Dream
Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness

Or

Siamese Dream
Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness
Adore

All three albums are boring shit full of fillers.

Close to the Edge, Tales From Topographic Oceans and Relayer is the superior trilogy
