Every musician or famous person usually get some sort of boost from dying. Look at someone like Amy Winehouse for example. A week before she died she was booed off stage and ripped on for being a drugged up whore. A week later she dies and everyone loses their shit like she was a deity.

As someone who not that long ago got over acute necrotising pancreatitis I confirm that you can recover slowly but must never drink again. My suspicion is that he took drugs instead of drinking and this would have combined with and exacerbated his depression
