Maybe you should admit how bad, uninspired, and unoriginal Kanye's music is, aka one of the dullest discographies in the history of music. Seriously each album following the Ye and his friends from Chicago as they fight assorted hoes has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the over-the-top imagery, the discography’s only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic world Kanye appears to live in unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Kanye vetoed the idea of Madlib producing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for his shitty shoeline. The Kanye West discography might be pro-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-J-Dilla series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least the beats were good though
"No!" The production is dreadful; the beats was terrible. As I listened, I noticed that every time a new song started, the author used the same shitty synth presets, the same composition techniques he continuely falls back on and threw the word "nigga" in completely unfitting and unnecessary places.
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that word was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Kanye's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Yeezus by Lou Reed. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are listening Kanye West at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read The Velvet Underground." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you listen to "Kanye West" you are, in fact, trained to listen to other hacks like Lou Reed.
How is the p4k best album of 2014 supposed to be a contrarian pick?
There’s something about Yeezus that makes it worth hearing and not like bad but there’s a lot about it that is not great
Rap is not music, and just because you hate Kanye does not make J Dilla good.
user you're retarded and that's the harry potter coypasta
Disregard my last post, I like sucking big hairy cocks
