that was part of it yeah. who cares though, he made good music.

Elvis is culturally black, and blacker than Donald Glover.

no he became successful because people liked his music

No, someone discovered how to record music so that it could be played back later. But then yeah, everything else is probably to do with evolution.

idk did every white person ever become elvis?

Look at him. Look at his face. Look at him when he just started. I'm not gay,but look at his face.he us handsome as fuck and for the time he was like the first edgy white dude. He was a Turbo Chad and his first album. Is fucking amazing in going to listen to it now. Thanks.

youtu.be/Bm5HKlQ6nGM first song off first album is legitimately the quintessential rock and roll song.it is literally what a person thinks of when they think of rock and roll

Yes and you have fundamental misunderstandings about the history of the American music industry if you think otherwise. It is a fact, it has nothing to do with any modern culture war.

Who cares, all music from that era sounds like cornball faggotry.

cringe

Everyone was white back then

But these things do get twisted in ways that are dishonest. For example, if Elvis gets successful because radios aren't allowed to play black music, then he got successful because of racism that he may have taken advantage of intentionally (as people like to portray it). But if he got successful because white people were attracted to him, that's just normal and not something he could control.

If his skin turning black one day would have lost him his support from the radio and record labels, that's a problem that may be worth diminishing his spotlight in the history books to be proportional. If his skin turning black would have lost him fans however, that's not his fault at all and he still earned his success.

Elvis was an industry plant meant to market and sell black RnB and boogie music to whites.

Duke was popular because he was heavily marketed towards White Crowds with his light complexion and willingness to "put on a show" for them. Doesn't make his music any less good, but that's the truth. That's just how it was back in the day.

They had been feasting on our for years. Shit like the platters was #1

To some extent and its easy to explain his success that way. But guys like Chuck Berry were very successful despite the fact that they weren't white. I think its also the image he presented, very sexual and lustful and emblematic of changing attitudes in late 1950s America.

Yes in part. But it was also because he was incredibly handsome, fantastic charisma and stage presence and one of the greatest singers who could bridge gospel to country to rock n roll

...or did he become white because he was successful?
