This just sounds like 90s Steve Albini, and not even at his angriest. It's pretty good but I was promised some kind of unprecedented assault of horror and anxiety.

What am I missing friends?

fantano has bad taste stop trusting him
anyone giving billie eilish an 8 doesn't know music

Estrogen in your system

Fantano has presumably heard a lot of noise rock though and this really shook him. Why

it was made by niggers

>Big Bibles AJ Styles
pfft

I don't follow

You asked us all a question and I obliged

So I'd appreciate this if I was more feminine? I guess I can see that.

It’s because you allowed yourself to get swept up by hype and the idea of others telling you what to think instead of listening to determine how to feel for yourself. In the future you should go into new music as less of a spineless NPCuck.

fantanos opinions arent his own, he's a social media influencer paid to shill albums.

OK great but what specifically about this album is so overwhelmingly dark and violent for some people?

Bumping

>I was promised some kind of unprecedented assault of horror and anxiety
By who? [facts] the only ones describing it that way are the ones who hate it because Fantano liked it and they're trying to set up people who like it (I haven't heard it so don't start bringing me personally into this) to seem like drooling plebs who don't know what "real" edgy hardcore music is, unlike the true patrician who's too good for it or anyone who likes it, and wants to think the people who like it think this is the most abrasive album ever made, when really the people who like it just seem to think it's a good album on the noisier/more dissonant than average rock album, not some assault on the senses.

Please don’t compare this to noise rock’s god.

its because normalfags haven't listened to any noise rock or no wave.

don't think it was meant favorably

But literally Fantano described it that way. As well as plenty of other people unironically online.

I don't have a lot of experience with noise rock and maybe that's why I really love this album. The climax of City Song is the most terrifying thing I've heard in western music.

It's just a great blend of mathcore and noise rock, also an unusually inspired and moving album from a band that had been broken up for years and reformed abruptly. It caught everyone who had followed them off guard.

We get it, you listen to wayyy more "overwhelmingly dark and violent" music.

Nothing. It’s good but not great. Noise Rock tourists love it of course though.

If anything, this.

You could have just been plain old helpful and not unnecessarily mean-spirited there at the end you know.

I dunno, it's better than a lot of contemporary noise rock

*citation needed*

This thing higher than atomizer on rym is just objective proof of how shit the site is. Aside from all the circlejerk of fags with 109 ratings who leave the site and 5 STAR everything radiohead+needledropcore

half the genres he talks about he clearly knows barely anything about

You're missing the other Daughters albums, all of which are vastly superior.

Are we just gonna act like Yea Forums didn’t shill the fuck out of this before the Fantano review?

It's just a record don't believe the hype and enjoy it.
I like their other records better cause noisegrind is boss though.

I'VE BEEN CALLED A SINNER

i got this disc sitting at the bottom of a bookshelf i bought i wa while a go pronanbboiley listen trf to it one time but rhemn therww oi n the sholf then fortgoto evef listen a gian thats all byyyyyyeeee

How in the goddamn

yes this is mu we're talking about here

I just thought it was fun. Pretty out there sounds and composition if you're completely unfamiliar with this kind of music but that can be said of pretty much any album in any genre one is unfamiliar with. I do think it's quite accessible relative to the stuff that informs it but even so it's well crafted, enjoyable music nonetheless.

He recently revised his opinion a bit for the positive on this one but I still don't think he fully buys into the idea of it, he's way too hung up on the technique of the album and is offput by how simple the sample manipulation is. At least now he admits that and tries to distance himself from it but he did say that he HAS to make that concentrated effort to do so.

this, this is babys first noise

I can guarantee it's the reason why. And you'll probably continue to love it even after diving deeper into noise rock, because I find at least that the album that I connect too first in a genre I end up falling in love with is usually one that ends up being a huge fav or one of my faves (with a few notable exceptions). Anyways check out Neurosis - Through Silver and Blood if you want some more dark shit, it's not noise rock but I find Neurosis share a lot of similarities with neo-Daughters

>Plebs still don't realize s/t was a million times better

This album ain't that bad but I think that it's really overhyped, it wouldn't be so popular without fantano giving it a 10/10

shut up, nigger

Will give it a listen. Thanks for the recommendation.

You're missing a lack of knowledge of rock history
Anyone who says YWGWYW is particularly experimental or genre defining has almost definitely never ventured into noise rock/no wave
That being said, it's still a really good album

hmmm do i recognize this from somewhere no it can't be

Attached: hmmm.png (556x603, 513K)

Youre missing nothing, lots of people who are unnacustomed to noise rock or generally heavier/darker music jumped on the wagon and instantly declared YWGWYW a "super dark and heavy album" because theyve never heard any dark or heavy albums

It got bandwagoned by soiboys whos never heard anything harder than the national in their lives

This is the most average album in existence.
There is nothing I like about it and nothing I disllike.

watch fantano's review retard

its lame, bland and fangless. production is like its post rock.

>the most terrifying thing I've heard in western music.
how about you listen to more music you foetus

OP was saying the opposite tho

It's a pretty common occurrence for people to enjoy the most accessible album in a genre. That's literally the point of accessibility. Why do people on Yea Forums struggle to understand this?

Contrarianism. The moment Fandango reviewed it everyone started shitting on it

It's a good album, would 7.5/10

That was "mean-spirited"? You sound like a bitch lmao

This. I remember this album being shilled non-stop here before Fantano made the review and now every Razorfist -tier professional contrarian has 180'd their view of the album because they think liking a more obscure, shittier album makes you some kind of genius music knowledge god.

Why not just be friends

True, but it's still definitely not as brutal as people made it out to be. Just a real solid album.

>What am I missing friends?
Lack of experience with experimental music since only someone who's inexperienced could find it as an "unprecedented assault of horror and anxiety".

Do you consider Deathconsciousness a cacophony of sound? A brutal, depressing album that moves you?
I don't
It's still great
Albums can be good without being what they're described as by retards online
