what's your excuse for the album cover?
Chill down, user, it's a joke. Regardless, that they don't let you talk about race in reddit doesn't mean it works like that around here.
Listen to the album, by the way, it's pretty good.

Best gil evans related project? The astrud gilberto one or maybe miles davis birth of cool have my vote as of now
Probably my favorite if I had to pick one. McCoy is especially incredible on this one.
>what's your excuse for the album cover?
Only kids care about album covers. I thought this thread was about good music.

What about self portrait in three colours?
three colors, one for each view of a secret :^)
Gonna give this one a listen. Better not suck. Well it's got Chris Potter so of course it will be good, but Colley's compositions better not suck.

I could never understand the appeal of spiritual Pharoh Sanders. I honestly like him and his current quartet playing good ol' bop a lot more.
In what ways does he suck?
Alice Coltrane

Just use the alternate album covers if you can’t listen to music without an a e s t h e t i c image accompanying it.
It's the brain-piercing sax bacchanal that I love, personally. But in a similar sense, I guess I don't 'get' Sun Ra.
Soulless
i honestly just kinda get bored unless its a pretty short melody. also a lot of the time there isnt as much improvisation on tracks with a vocalist so its not as fun to listen to. ill usually only check out vocal stuff if its a tune i like a lot or if its like ella, chet, sarah vaughn, or billie holiday

Ok so how do you feel about people who call all jazz soulless wank?
Easy. Black people make soulful jazz and white people make soulless jazz.
You don't even listen to jazz, fag.
Seen this in several threads now. Is it the new criss cross meme album?
I know it's bait but I'll still bite
>this is bait
I can't get enough of Tyner's solo on Aisha
I personally love vocal Jazz just as much as instrumental. Check this album out, totally underated singer imo, highley recommend.
