How come it is so good yet we didn't discover it until recently? Did someone go back in time and insert this album in 2001? Is this some Mandela effect shit?

What the actual fuck. I thought it was released in 2017

we probably all ignored it bc of the cover and some meme lord probably decided to fuck around and listened to it which now means that the flood gates have been opened for another mu core addition

Yea Forums only cared about it when it was remastered and reissued

people have been posting about this album on here for as long as ive been coming here, where do you get the idea that everyone just discovered it

That's the remaster. Maybe the reason why more people know about it now.

Is basically christian shoegaze, maybe thats why. Still, pretty good tho.

thats kind of underselling it. its very post-rock and they sound like slint and even capn jazz at times.

imagine putting all that effort into an album, actually managing to make a great one and then decide to slap an album cover like that on it

Ok, this is not how time works, i think you meant someone released this album recently and faked the release date

yeah it's fucking hideous. I'm honestly not gonna listen to this album just because the cover is so ugly.

Also this, its been SPAMMED recently but I remember it being posted long time ago

Same with Fishmans, NO ONE posted about them in 2011/2012 but I come back here last year and it's practically deified mucore

Its been posted in shugazi threads for years. Never gave it a chance though. I've started listen to it but it never hooked me. Maybe because I fucking hate the album cover, the band name and the name of the album.

No one posted about them in 2013 or 2014 either.

I mean hell, Nick Drake was still a nobody until Mercedes used one of his songs in a commercial during the 90s.

"I can't risk listening to this album. I can't have bad cover art on my chart."
You're not ready.

nah I'll probably listen to it and maybe even like it. but I definitely won't put something this ugly on my chart, doesn't matter how good it is.

seriously does anyone have an alternate cover art to this?

Poser fag.

hahaha say what you want man. I like my chart to be aesthetically pleasing. only good art gets on there.

This is avant teen approved rym bullshit, people in chart threads would think you're cool for listening to it.

Jesus, imagine being this retarded.

not hard to imagine. I am this retarded buddy. I don't even save albums on my spotify library that have ugly covers. The Clash 1977, great album, shitty cover, not going in my library. idk why this matters to you? hahaha

it's not like I'm not ignoring the album just cos the art is shit. also I buy CD's & records all the time, and I would still buy an album despite how ugly the art is.

>recently
are you fucking kidding me?

>The Clash 1977, great album, shitty cover
Is this bait?

that is some fucking high quality OCD

It got a 2017 remaster. In 2001 the album hardly had any traction and Bella Union was going bankrupt so Simon and Robin mixed the album themselves and despite their best efforts, didn't really know what they were doing, and still had 0$ to market/promote it. In 2001 the internet/file sharing/digital downloads were hardly prevalent. Additionally, the Christian imagery put off, and continues to put off a lot of people in the United States, hence why the band has always had a much bigger following in Europe. When Mute did the remaster in 2017 they were actually able to promote it, plus it had the additional traction that nearly 2 decades of cult status got the album for the few thousand people worldwide who discovered it. It's not hard to figure this stuff out, all of the information is easily accessible.

If you didn't know about this record before the remaster you haven't been serious about music. Thanks for doing all that research, proving my hypothesis that you're a FAKER

Thanks user. That makes sense

high quality bait, but is it really worth acting this retarded just to keep the thread alive and slowly shill TTJC into Yea Forumscore.

>I knew about the record that no one cared about before you! That means I have more music points than you!!!!
That's not how it works. Stop cheapening music by using it to prop up your identity.

>That's not how it works
Yes it is, jackass.
SORRRYYYYY!!

hahahaha yh I know. I'm not even joking I take 40mg of prozac a day for OCD.
lololololololol anytime I show ya'll how retarded I am you think it's bait. ffs the amount of times people have accused me of bait is hilarious.

>if you didn't know about this record before the remaster you didn't browse Yea Forums a lot
there ya go

I can firmly say that if you've been here before 2017, you will have seen it.
Didn't listen to it until recently though, I'm actually surprised of how well it sounds, better than Loveless honestly, but i don't really care for Loveless.

it's got the worst cover of all The Clash albums. Combat Rock has the best.

>Sweet Trip
>Fishmans
>Lift to Experience

What are some other artists which got a massive surge of popularity on Yea Forums and RYM in the last 3 years?

It sat in my library for a few years and I never got around to listening to it because I thought the album art was silly

Bait. And if i have to guess, you are a retarded female teen too.

The fucking Shaggs is better than Loveless, not much of an accomplishment.
wrong

>B-b..BAIT
and yet you're still replying ;)

You should throw Have a Nice Life on there since their popularity is basically solely attributable to Yea Forums.
Death Grips could count as well, but that's not totally reducible to Yea Forums, they just knew this was their target audience and marketed accordingly.

I agree, The Shaggs are greatly unappreciated though. Did you know that all their songs were written out as sheet music before they were even recorded? That shifts the entire wonky childish feel of the record from accidental and laughable to misunderstood genius.

Truly on the same level as Captain Beefheart

Yes, but beefheart had no classical training and could not write sheet music. The Shaggs did.

did you watch micthesnares video on that

No fucking way

what are some future mu core hidden gems?

bump

Stop posting this false shit. The Shaggs could not write sheet music, and had very little exposure to any music whatsoever as their father forbid them from listening to it. Beefheart could not write music either. Read a fucking book you illiterate asshole.
