depressed gfur here--MtM helped me get over a breakup but showing me I wasn't alone in my anger. FtF brought me to tears with helping me realize how foolish it was to harbor onto my anger while losing sight of the moments of beauty that relationship brought me.
Not quite my favorite record, but one that meant a lot to me as a weird introverted gay.

Yeah, Sister is incredible, dug the lo-fi vibe of that compared to DN. That raw sound just amplifies both the manic and plaintive moments of that record. The closer is fucking hilarious, too.
And yeah, TF is awesome--I'd recommend listening to Mirror to Mirror first. They might have the same songs, though it's a blast seeing the slight changes in how their arranged. Just remember MtM was made by a teenage Will Toledo on a MacBook Pro, while FtF is an exploration of those teenage feelings with a more worldly outlook. i.e, while the songwriting on both albums is already outstanding, Face to Face's most poignant moments occur in the negative space between it and Mirror to Mirror.
