Alice In Chains were big KISS fans, which should come as no surprise really, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam is a huge KISS nerd in particular, and Nirvana put a hidden image of KISS in the album art of Nevermind.

I prefer glam to grunge any day myself, but even still, everyone from those guys to the thrashers to the grunge guys were influenced by KISS. They were like the biggest band among Gen Xers.

The Sgt. Pepper of whatever genre Kiss' music belongs to.

On Destroyer, Kiss manages to stay in their lane, musically, YET, deliver an album where every song is its own little treat. No two songs on it sound the same.

The overall production was very good for the time (1976) as well.

No other Kiss album is more fun.

Motörhead, WASP, Dio, Mötley Crue, Judas Priest, all bands that write better lyrics about partying than Kiss. Bands like Twisted Sister are better musically than Kiss as well but also have mediocre lyrics.
