we already did best. Worst was probably any non-metal band supporting Deafheaven on one of their tours.

I saw this shit band Ion Vein play at Powerfest 2008 in Mokena, IL. They were one of the bands that played before iced earth. They were terrible. The singer was acting like a wigger in between songs and a massive "you suck" chant started until they eventually stopped playing. That was by far the worst. I don't know about best but it probably isn't metal show for me.

The meme appeal alone should be worth it just based on the fucking lineup

I've only been to two, Judas Priest and Megadeth.
Both were good. Judas Priest's sound wasn't the best since it was outside, Megadeth's sound (indoors) was really good. They were a bit by the numbers though, barely any audience interaction. Their opener Metal Church had way more energy.

Rammstein in 2012, As I Lay Dying in 2018 and Slipknot in 2015 give or take probably. I don't go to gigs all that often

The 80s albums don't have much filler, it's Fear of the Dark and onwards that are ridiculous. If you're not really into prog or 90s buttrock then stick to those classic records.

It's got catchy hooks but if you're not into synths you probably won't like it, the whole album is reminiscent of 80s era synthpop.

I like analog synths, just not the modern dance music shit.

I can't think of any traditional pop off hand but I like UK garage which can have some poppy vocals.

Just listened Sodom's Partisan EP. This souds fucking great. Slight black metal elements, and even blast beat section at the end of second track. It's incredible to see this kind of energy from a group, that's been playing for almost 40 years. I'm quite excited for the new album later this year.

I was referring to Dreams of Eschaton/Epilogue. I've never heard a version of that record with Flaming Metal Systems as the closer, and I don't think it'd fit now that I'm imagining it. Dreams of Eschaton/Epilogue is such a great closer and the entire album builds towards it and it makes sense it'd end there. Flaming Metal Systems is a top three track for me from the album all that being said, though I don't think I'd like it as the closer. Fuck, what a track though.

that's really going to be the case whenever you go to wacken. you have to order your tickets a year in advance when only a handful of bands have been announced. strangely enough, i went in 2015 and sabaton and opeth both put on awesome sets then. it's also really fun to just meet and talk with all the people as well, and see what vendors are there (as much as some may think that part of the festival is gay).
i would not miss airbourne. go watch their 2008 wacken set for what to expect.
