I've been trying to teach myself piano for almost a year and I've been failing miserably. I feel like it's not even possible without lessons. Should I just switch to guitar?

.
why not just take lessons?
You are an npc
I live in the middle of nowhere
Get a teacher.
nigga just press the keys it's not hard
teach yourself a single song. divide it into parts. learn first part slowly. gradually bring it up to speed until you can do it without sheet music. repeat for next parts.
oh cool now I can play one song
already did that
this
man up, pussy
How the fuck can you be so incompetent? Either you're a lazy piece of shit and that's why you can't play the Piano or your simply retarted. Little kids can play the Piano so man tf. up and actually try it you dumb fuck. Hope this helps :)
You are a moron.
PUNCH THE KEYS FOR GOD'S SAKE!!
Did you know that David Bowie wrote most of Hunky Dory on piano and he didn't even know how to play it?
cringe
explains why it sucks so much, lol
Sorry user. Unfortunately it seems as though you are not talented. And since you'd rather make a thread bitching about it instead of practicing you also lack ambition. Any success from this point would require a complete turnaround, which we all know that you likely are incapable of. Stick to listening to music instead of playing it. Who knows, maybe you'll write for Pitchfork one day.
Here's the thing, at the start, piano is not fun at all. Until you can actually play it smoothly, you'll waste a lot of time, and it'll be very hard and annoying. That's why is so hard to get into it if you didn't learned as a child, and it's even worst if you don't have a teacher.
>Should I just switch to guitar?
Try it out, it'll be a breath of fresh air. I'm not desencouraging you to learn piano, but music is supposed to be fun, if you're not having fun, why bother?
There is actually very little you'd derive from a lesson that you couldn't derive from somewhere else, and really with the proliferation of cheap recording equipment you could also, by maintaining a critical attitude critique your own playing which is the real key value of a teacher.
t. conservatory educated musician
nice projection
I never had lessons, started in my late teens, and now make $900 a gig in a cover band. You just got to keep at it.
