No, it's a great track.
Surf's Up was a mistake. Van Dyke Parks' lyrics are just bad
Neither was a mistake; they're both perfect. Vega-Tables was a mistake.
this talentless fuck being born was going too far
He went too far with everything because the 60s production values make everything he very made sound limp and mushy. Should’ve been born in the 80s so he could take advantage of today’s brilliant tech.
fuck yes. then the beatles wouldnt have made revolver such a dogshit album
You shut your whore mouth
For a second, I thought that was Steve Bannon.
>I, I LOVE THE COLORFUL CLOTHES SHE WEARS
>AND SHE'S ALREADY WORKIN' ON MY BRAIN
anyone know the differences between smile sessions and 20/20's version of cabin essence?
It's the best Beach Boys song, so no.
cmon, it's so joyful and manic
>LITTLE SURFER LITTLE ONE
>t. kissless virgin
literal plebbit opinions, SMiLE is perfect
I'll be honest; I agree. I just wanted to make another SMiLE thread.
No.
No.
No.
The Smile Sessions is a perfect album.
This makes me sad to think about. I have read that part of SMiLE's collapse was that Brian could only go so far with the modularity concept when the state of technology was such that he would literally have to manually cut and paste tapes around for hours and hours. Not to mention that the music industry would probably be more accepting of Brian's genius today.
God... If only the Beach Boys and Parks had been transported two decades forward, we could have a fully realized SMiLE. But would it and Brian even be recognized as the genius they are in the modern era? Probably not. In its Top 500 Albums list, Rolling Stone only put The Smile Sessions somewhere in the 300s, even though, musically, it most certainly blows at least 90% of everything between it and #1 out of the water—it was released too late to have the influence and recognition that would get it a higher spot, I think. And Pet Sounds definitely would not have made #2 had it not been released when it was. (Not saying Rolling Stone has good taste, but it is to some degree indicative of the establishment's views.)
YOU’RE UNDER ARREST
would brian's mental state would've been okay if he hadn't gone through drugs and smile's demise, or was he bound to have lost it eventually?

Guys, how is it that the guy who wrote Kokomo managed to write better lyrics than the guys who wrote God Only Knows and I Just Wasn't Made For These Times?
