where's broadcast
in the trash, where it belongs
Do you mean dream pop for tourists?
my next album
>Happiness, an album by a literal who, is for tourists
>chart is dream pop for tourists
>chart has zero albums by Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Beach House, or Fishmans, the four biggest tourist dream pop bands
Have you heard In The Dream Of The Sea Life? It's my personal favorite candy claws record, even over C&C
Mid Air Thief's first album is also really good
I'll put TDOTSL on my to listen list. I've already heard the other Mid Air Thief album, and I din't like it as much
Roberto? Is that you?
International makes me cry.
This might be helpful
Ignore all the stupid banter about tourism above
I've already seen this chart, but I immediately disregarded everything it when I noticed that Broadcast is on it
Cringe
Azeda Booth - In Flesh Tones
Gar-un-teed faggot right here.
embarrassing
sweet trip, ceres and calypso and mum make up more than 50% of the chart user
no u
>three Yea Forums memes make up over half the chart
>none of said three Yea Forums memes are Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Beach House, or Fishmans
are you gonna stop shitposting and explain your thoughts for sec faggot
not the original user, but Broadcast is kinda boring from what I've listened to of them. Especially the album listed
still tourist core
1.) I don't think Broadcast can be stylistically compared to Sweet Trip, Múm, Mid-Air Thief, etc
2.) the user who made this chart thinks Broadcast can be stylistically compared to Sweet Trip et al, and so he put them on the chart together
3.) ergo, he likely does not understand Sweet Trip et al, and I probably shouldn't trust the chart
that broadcast album is pretty boring desu, very mellow
all of those words and you still can’t form an explanatory thought. gtfo shitposter im not even a broadcast fan but you suck cock
how are you so illiterate? the chart is bad because the creator thinks Broadcast is in the same genre as the other artists when they aren't, so the entire chart is suspect. what's so hard to understand?
>implying
you’re a fucking retard. attempt to explain your opinion. you don’t even get a (you)
Check this out (I know you have some
overlap in your chart vs this) as well as A Sunny Day In Glasgow - Sea When Absent, M83’s entire discography, Ladytron - Witching Hour, and Shohei Amimori - Sonasile
There's a band called Decoder Ring I found one time that I think was kind of like this
Check out Sound of Ceres, the group formed after candy claws broke up
But honestly there's nothing really like candy claws, their sound is super hard to replicate
Shit didn’t see this already
Nuno Canavrro- Plux Quba
Macaroom- Swimming Classroom
Plone- For Beginner Piano
Blonde Redhead is a bit less delicate but definitely occupies the same niche in my head. Death’s Dynamic Shroud is vaporwave but really really good vaporwave that reminds me of v:d:c. Thanks for showing me Happiness, by the way, this bumps hard.
Oh, and y’all might kill me for this, but a lot of the techniques used in these records show up in the last Bon Iver album.
dds.wmv is great, but I wouldn't really think to compare them to Sweet Trip
check out Radio Dept I think you'd be into it
also American Analog Set
I understand the difference, but I feel like I’ll Try Living Like This goes for a similar emotion and experience as vdc does. It’s a sort of electrified, bustling melancholy, you know?
the guy probably put them on there because he put Stereolab on there and thought "well this is close too I guess"
If I were to put a Broadcast album on there I would probably do Witch Cults
any music like VDC but without the vocals?
Birth of a new day unironically
Hey don't shit on fishmans nigger
>tourism = bad
excuse me, what?
Big fan of most of those. I'll suggest to you "Tsumanne" by "Shinsei Kamattechan". It's not as good as these but it has some of the same sound which I find is rare. I'll be monitoring this thread for any recommendations, everyone!
funny, I consider Tsumanne to be about as good as the above albums but not to be close enough in style to include
youtube.com
Mid-Air thief earlier collaboration (sounds very similar still)
I think Track 3 and 5 are close enough that it would be a good recommendation
I see your point, but the running theme of the chart is that it's a mixture of electronic with dream pop and shoegaze elements. Tsumanne comes across as the exact opposite; it's a shoegaze record that happens to have a few tracks with notable electronic production
Crumbling is way more acoustic than the rest, I didn't catch on to your theme. Thoughts on Hurtbreak Wonderland?
Not that user but scratch the shoegaze I want some more acoustic comfiness like Mid-Air Thief
for Crumbling, I consider it to be a mix of folktronica (as retarded as that name is) and dream pop. this is the first I'm hearing of World's End Girlfriend, seems interesting, I'll try it
