Plebs never fucking know...50years ago today Gregg Allman finally joined his brother and his new band creating one of the greatest live bands rock and roll has ever known. The first song they played was Muddy Water's Trouble No More. The rest is history...the Road Goes On For Ever.

One of the (if not the) most boring bands of all time
LOL. Is being a pleb an in thing with the kids today? if you find superior musicianship, compelling songwriting, brilliant improvisational skills and a ground breaking combination of elements that some consider genre creating "boring" then you are a bigger pleb than you realize.
for decades they were astounding:

Bill Graham's favorite band.
They were brilliant. Jazz, Blues, Country, improv they did it all...

I bet you like the grateful dead you LOSER
I saw a friend of mine do a cover of Not My Cross to Bear at a bar once. It was nice.

holy smokes. didnt know they were that good so recently. I should have gone and seen them.
Love me some ABB. Long Live the ABB.
This is one of the their greatest songs. So haunting yet so incendiary at the same time:
Only band to have 4 guitarists in RS top 100.
Duane was one of the GOATs
don't even mention that trash band in this thread thanks
that time signature. those drums. pretty unique for rock music desu
I actually became a fan of them from their 90s material and then worked backwards...the 90s stuff is underrated:
>one of the Greatest American Rock Bands Ever.
Wrong. They were THE Greatest Band America has ever produced. is right they are the logical conclusion to Americana in all its forms.
Duane is magnificent, but I love Dickey's unerring sense of melody a little more.
Happy Anniversary The Allman Brothers Band!!
Gregg
Duane
Dickey
Berry
Butch
Jaimoe
Lamar
Chuck
Dan
Warren
Woody
Otiel
Jack
Derek
...and a few other misc musicians along the way...
This is the song that first captured me...such an infectious boogie

white people fucking suck at blues music
this is one of the greatest blues songs ever written- black dudes included.

In fact, Gregg Allman is one of the greatest blues singers ever....

white people dont get the blues?
>Wrong. They were THE Greatest Band America has ever produced
yes.
Warren Haynes sure made a nice career for himself from this gig. it helps that he can play.
JUST LOOKING FOR THAT GOOD TIME THANG!
>Only band to have 4 guitarists in RS top 100.
they have had an embarrassment of riches with first Duane and Dickey and then Warren and Derek. Oteil too (the bass player)
Check out Derek's solo- fucking amazing. starts about the 1:50mark

thats nothing. check out his solo Sky is Crying. at 6:30.

Boomer core
>hurrdurr
the post
maybe. but it would behoove you to know and understand the cultural and musical influence of one of the most important bands in rock history....that and they were just really fucking good...for 50yrs.
My history professor was The Allman Brothers band's live audio engineer. He was also a session musician for CCR and fought in Vietnam. He is probably the most based man I have ever come across. He got to live and breathe >it ain't me starts playing and accomplish so much afterwards.
Bud Snyder?
Oteil is wasted in that crap junkie cover band nowadays, wish he would get back to playing real music
agreed! wish he would join TTB again. or really wish Derek, Warren and Otiel and even Marc would all do something...hell I am sure Jaimoe would be up for something too
GenX boomer checking in. saw them many times in 90s and 2000s. Dickey and Warren were a force back when Warren was mean and hungry...Derek and Warren were something all together different but no less brilliant. but all along from begining to end...from Duane to Derek...the focus was always on the music (no offense Cher)
