Why there are no black people in classical music still to this day? Can you name one black classical composer? Are black people incapable of classical music/education?
Why there are no black people in classical music still to this day? Can you name one black classical composer...
the kreutzer sonata was written for a black violinist
historically blacks have been kept from classical music careers in the states. e.g. charles mingus might have gone into classical but it wasn't an option
it's also not their music or history so the motivation and familial involvement is less.
Classical as a genre is honestly dying and I bet most people can't name any modern classical composers. Classical Music, as it is most commonly thought of, was primarily a European style. The idea of associating classical music with high intellect is a myth europeans have spread to make themselves feel superior. There are many black virtuosos throughout history showing that their is no lack of skill or talent it is simply a matter of culture and how different cultures produce different art.
you should just start your post stating that you're racist and stop pretending like you want an answer
It comes mostly from Europe which had mostly white people working in it. Same reason you don't see white people on performances of typical music from black countries
Yes but we live into an age where cultural appropriation happened and happens everywhere but not here. Jazz and blues were made by the blacks but turned a white thing very soon. It's very strange to see that no black people ever even tried into classical music in modern times, also considering the obvious talent black people have in music. I guess it's a matter of ideology.
This concert is literally the ONLY time I've seen a black violinist in my life and it was great:
Because classical music was created in Europe which was mostly white throughout its history? Asians eating that shit up in the past few decades doesn't change that fact.
I can in fact, and not even a meme one (there are plenty of those ie. Florence Price). I can name two genuinely good ones
William Grant Still.

Samuel Coleridge Taylor

But as for an African composer, there you've got me. This entire continent is devoid of composers or even notable performers.
>it's a people who know fuck all about contemporary music spouting idiocy about contemporary music episode
Racist faggot OP BTFO
Give me a name.

see Also there's this guy
based and black pilled
most blacks are in the south too and the white savages who live there alongside them don't play classical music either
>It's very strange to see that no black people ever even tried into classical music in modern times,
What’s the motivation? To play other people’s music or score a Hollywood film at best? Why else become a virtuoso? There’s little to no cultural impetus for a culture so far removed to pick up a genre that was both birthed and groomed for/by the European elite. It’s a terrible economic move for the contemporary aspiring musician, barring the general development of competence (i.e. Nina Simone).
Both blues and jazz have influences from European music, it's not 100% created by niggers.
Humanity started in Africa go fuck yourself
There are lots of them, it's just they're all called "jazz" musicians. Jazz is a sub-genre of classical. Same techniques, same instruments, same audience. Even the improvisation isn't unique to jazz, because it's standard in baroque too.
Why is OP just ignoring this? Is this just a bait thread?
>Is this just a bait thread?
What do you think lmao
I tend to think most of the racism on Yea Forums is genuine even if perfunctory.
And evolved around the 45° parallel, gas yourself
Even the ones faking it or joking are inviting the actual retards
The influences are particularly Scottish, Irish and especially English folk music and church hymns, and West African call and response structures, rhythms, and certain elements of the instrumentation. There's also something of an influence of German military marches (notably in Fife and Drum Blues) and the folk music of West Africa (Mali and Nigeria in particular) when it comes to tuning, intonation and technique. It's very uniquely American (as in, from the USA).
Jazz is definitely at the point of somewhere between commercial and erudite music. I feel the emphasis on percussion and phase locking makes it stand out from a lot of other erudite music.
Read the file name you dumb fuck. Same old shit 'why are there no contemporary composers', 'why is opera expensive' betraying utter ignorance of contemporary music.
But let's face it, you just wanted to bitch about niggers. Which is even more stupid, because this is Yea Forums and you can bitch about niggers all you like, you don't have to cloak it in this bullshit 'hai gais, I like, really like, classical music, aren't black people really dumb lol'
>Jazz and blues were made by the blacks but turned a white thing very soon
I don't think most people could name a white jazz musician

I’m a fat nigger. I stink like fucking shit, I have ADHD. I love chicken and Asian food. I’m negro, Mexican and indigenous. I’m obese. I have thought of at least one male as sexually attractive. I’m gay. I’m begro. I’m fat. I’m Mexican. Don’t like chinks. Don’t like whites. Obama was a good President.

another problem I haven't mentioned is that of audience
classical music today is unfortunately just as racist as pop music if not more so. audiences and donors want to see performers from their own ethnic group. So right now asian and jewish peformers get disproportionate attention in some circles. kind of the same way that black jazz audiences prefer black performers. because of this it is a smarter career move for black person who receives classical training to go into jazz, and many do.
there are some black people in the classical world. opera I think especially. kathleen battle and pretty yende, e.g.
Beethoven was black. OP is a fucking retard
Is this black for revisionists?
This. The final redpill is that Mozart was black too and Einstein was whitewashed as well
...
imagine spending decades practicing an instrument and spending the rest of your life paying off college debt just so you can have a really shitty underpaid orchestra job in milwaukee or some shit because there are so few open jobs in classical music. this is why classical music is mostly performed by rich whites and asians
Little interest in a foreign tradition, much like Americans as a whole desu. The vast majority of worthwhile America composers have been Jews from New England.
