>DJ OKAWARI - KALEIDOSCOPE Used to listen to individual tracks like Flower Dance and Times Fusion etc. back when i was in high school that kept up popping up along with Samurai Champloo and Nujabes of which i was obsessed with at the time in 2012-13. Realized i've never listened to a full a full album of his, Nothing exciting it's just pretty instrumentals and it's just painfully mediocre. Good to just put in the background whilst playing a JRPG or something though. >CHON - HOMEY I'm probably one of the few people that think is way better than Grow. It'e the first Instrumental Math Rock infused with lofi hip hop beats to study to album i've heard. >BLADEE - ICEDANCER It's grown on me allot. When i first heard Icedancer i was really disappointed, But the more i've heard it the more i can agree it's Bladees second best project. Eversince is still easily his best and doubt he'll top it. >FRANK OCEAN - BLOND Not much to say tbqh. One of the best albums of the decade easily. >YUNG LEAN - POISON IVY Never really got the hate this got tbqh, Doesn't sound that different from Stranger and seems like the correct step forward. Tracks like "Sauron" and "Bender + Girlfriend" are easily some of his best.
I'd be lying if i said i knew what any of those are. How were they?
Parker Walker
>tricot - T H E POOL is bringing out the inner high school weeb in me >TTNG - Animals Learned about this album a couple of days ago and i've listened to it nonstop >The Residents - The Third Reich 'N Roll Meet The Residents is one of my favorite albums so i thought i might go through The Residents discography >Tobin Sprout - Moonflower Plastic (Welcome to My Wigwam) Heard it twice, liking it so far, need to listen more >toe - the book about my idle plot on a vague anxiety Peak instrumental math rock / post rock
>Pulp - Different Class This album was fucking excellent. With the exception of I Spy, it's damn near perfect. 95/100
>The Stone Roses - ST Avoided this album for a while because I confused STP with The Stone Roses. Really good album though. Made of Stone is the highlight. 80/100
>Oasis - What's The Story Morning Glory Being that I was on a brit-pop kick lately, I thought I'd give Oasis a (fourth?) chance. This is the best they have to offer and it's still terribly underwhelming. A few singles are good but that's it. 35/100
>Pulp - This is Hardcore Admittedly not at the level of Different Class, This is Hardcore still manages to dazzle with songs like The Fear and the titular track. Jarvis is still at the top of his songwriting game. 78/100
>Metallica - Kill Em All Was suggested this by a friend who named it as a Metal essential, a genre I've never been crazy about. It wasn't bad though. It erred on the side of hardcore punk more then I expected. 70/100.
+Toe, Tricot Have you heard of Chon? Listen too Chon - Grow. It's great math rock. You should listen too some Supergrass.
Juan Sullivan
based. I actually like it, it wasn't what i was expecting though
Hudson Evans
Supergrass is p good thus far. Thanks for the rec!

np, I've got more recs
>Manic Street Preacers - Everything Must Go >Mansun - Attack of the Grey Lantern
Kayden Cox
>Various Artists - Baku: Symphony of Sirens Interesting reconstructed and original Avant-Garde from the USSR. Included is a reconstruction of the Symphony of Sirens, a sound collage made up of the industrial noises and military marches of the port city Baku. A lot of Soviet noise and spoken word. Found this album by accident and listened to it because of the cover. >Abner Jay - The True Story of Abner Jay Compilation of Abner's best, with songs like "I'm So Depressed" and "St. James Infirmary Blues". Outsider Folk/Blues, one man band with guitar, drum, harmonica, chims, etc. Overall very comfy. Underrated as all hell, recommended for fans of Jandek. >Robert Johnson - The Complete Recordings You know him, Mississippi Delta Blues legend who sold his soul to the devil to play so well. Just some nice, classic Delta Blues. As for a lot of people, the album that got me interested in the Blues. >King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity King Gizz's endless album, made up of some of their best work. Great combination of Hard Rock and Psych Rock, this was the album that got me into King Gizz and is still my favorite. >Scott Walker - Scott Scott's first solo album, some of the best Baroque Pop I've ever heard. Honestly my favorite album of his, especially with "My Death" and "Angelica". RIP a legend. try some early Eno like Before and After Science and Fragments of A Rainy Season by John Cale try The Sunshine Fix's two albums and Torch of the Mystics by Sun City Girls
>Trout Mask Replica Wanted to give it a listen to see what it was about, and I definitely understand the divide between on the album. 7/10 >Kid A Amazing album, so close to a 10 imo. 9/10 >Year of the Snitch Again, amazing album, again, so close to a 10. In my top 2 or 3 favorite albums easily. 9/10 >Selected Ambient Works 85-92 This album is great to put in the background while doing anything. It's a perfect blend of minimal sound but overwhelming accuracy. 8/10. >Saturation III inb4 "gay". But really though, this album is a switch in sound from the boy band and they hit this new sound perfectly imo. 9/10
OP Here, Just listened too pic related >Jvcki Wai - Enchanted Propaganda I really didn't expect this, It's literally Korean Lil Peep but a woman making Emo trap rap. I can get behind it. >>Kid A >Amazing album, so close to a 10 imo. 9/10 Gotta agree here The best GAS album btw
>Kid A My first time listening to it. I still can't believe these guys made trash like In Rainbows. >OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES I felt like listening to "It's Okay To Cry", then "Ponyboy" started and I couldn't stop listening. >Vows I love Kimbra. You do too. >Honey I use it as ambient music. It is really relaxing. >Ceremonials I loved "High As Hope" and "Lungs"; but I didn't like this one as much. Too monotonous maybe
>Andrew Jackson Jihad - People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World First time listening to it. I expected it to be pretentious trash and while I wasn’t exactly wrong it’s actually still pretty solid. >American Football - LP3 It’s honestly better than LP1. Shit is ridiculously comfy. Definitely AOTY contender right now. >Wolfheart - Winterborn No metal album has ever done the wintery European nature LARPing thing as well as this. Makes me wish I was Scandinavian. >Tim Hecker - Radio Amor Easily my favorite album of all time. It’s literally impossible to describe why I love it so much without sounding like the most pretentious cunt on the planet. >TesseracT - Altered State Djent is fucking cool and none of you can convince me otherwise.
Leo Wood
>La Dispute- Panorama
Pretty solid. Never been a huge fan of them but I may like it even more than their debut
>Radiohead- Amnesiac
returning to it for the first time in years. Definitely better than I remember ut still pretty overrated. 6.5/10
>The Knife- Silent Shout
A good bit of fun but definitely worse than Shaking the Habitual. 7.5/10
>Koreisch - This Decaying Schizophrenic Christ Complex
>LP3 Doom in Full Bloom makes me cry >London Sessions Easily the best versions of Daft Punk is Playing at My House, All My Friends, and Yr City's a Sucker. Get Innocuous is also real good, but I like ELS version a bit more. Everything else is fairly forgettable or straight up bad. All I Want is my least favorite LCD song (the guitar coupled with the synth line gives me a headache for some reason) and I have no idea who the fuck thought that voice filter on I Can Change was a good idea. >White Album IMO the best pop rock / power pop / whatever album of the decade. Rivers is ridiculously good at writing straight up no bullshit power pop, which is what most of this album is. Thank God for Girls is stupid (although the hook is undeniably catchy), and Rivers' falsetto on Jacked Up sometimes gets on my nerves, but everything else is just good power pop. Honestly like this as much or more than Blue. >Forest of Lost Children It's alright. Smoke and Mirrors is the only track that reaches the highs of Masana Temples. Everything else is kinda forgettable and samey, but nice and calming to listen to. If you haven't listened to Masana Temples yet I highly encourage you to check it out, it's easily the best psych rock album of last year. youtube.com/watch?v=egmECvOCZ8Y >Cows on Hourglass Pond Feels meets Eucalyptus. that's it. AOTYSF.
>Pompeii I made this bootleg myself. Great Pink Floyd performance! >Blood on the Tracks My first time listening to this one. Nothing special. A few standout tracks, but overall it's one of my least favourite Bob Dylan albums. >Reachin' I've been searching for Jazz Rap similar to ATCQ and Digable Planets are the closest equivalent I've been able to find. I absolutely love this album. >Blowout Comb This one is like Reachin', but even better. One of my favourite hip-hop albums of all time. >Mana Yood Sushai Good drone metal. I'll probably give it another listen.
based. Blonde is a masterpiece good stuff. Residents are great RIP Scott. Scott 1-4 are some of my favourite albums.
>fact really good, inventive, japanese metalcore >the beatles going through their discography, this one aint bad, and every album is better than the last so far >l'arc en ciel i love l'arc always, great post-punk/alt rock influenced visual kei >galaxie 500 pretty alright, very good instrumentals and atmosphere but i cant get over the south park vocals >telepath prolly his best work
usually don't like post-rock but I love these 2 albums by Talk Talk LP3 was okay, I'd give it a 6-7 Went through Slime Season after adding it to my iCloud library after forgetting about it for like a year WATTBA is still disappointing
SS3 is the best Slime Season project. He'll never top Barter 6 though
Leo Flores
>Rollercoaster listened to it yesterday for the first time and liked it but not as good as >down colourfull hill listened to this at least 5 times today and the first album in months i really love >stratosphere one of my favorites since beginning of last year >i could live in hope was searching for something like down colourfull hill. it's really good but i probably won't listen to it again in the near future >leaves turn inside you quite good throughout although i like the album opener the most
Help! is far and away the best Beatles record pre Rubber soul
Carson Stewart
totally agree, if it was actually CDQ it could rival barter 6 for me
Asher Jackson
forgot to req
supergrass the la's rain parade- emergency third rail power trip

Nice Robert Johnson listen there. I grew up on that specific compilation. My dad would simultaneously play that and then SOAD in his car when i was with him as a kid haha

>FET.NAT - le mal absolutely bonkers post-punk psycho-jazz with 5 midi reinterpretations on the back half. favorite LP of 2019 so far >Mdou Moctar Niger singer-songwriter. calm, dusty, moving. getting ready to see him this weekend in detroit with guerilla toss >Orquesta de las Nubes - The Order of Change like if Oneohtrix Point Never actually lived in the 80's. incredible. hard to categorize >Scott Walker - 3 RIP >Professor Rhythm - Professor 3 goofy south african disco/dub. makes me smile
How do you even listen to stuff with this kind of grotesque imagery?
Juan Mitchell
It's called being 14.
Nathaniel Reyes
>Belly - Star >Estradasphere - Buck Fever >Vessel - Queen of Golden Dogs >Iglooghost - Neo Wax Bloom >Junkie XL - Saturday Teenage Kick
I liked them all. Star was the most basic and easily digestible. I recommend it to those who like the band Garbage and/or Metric, basically any 90s/2000s alt rock with a female vocalist. Buck Fever felt like a Ween or Mr. Bungle album. Very strange. Queen of Golden Dogs is a blend of classical and electronic, but produces a very unique outcome, probably my favorite of the albums I listened to. Iglooghost was pretty good, although I found it annoying at times. I'm all for cacophony, but there were many moments when I felt the song simply just didnt work. Junkie XL's electronic album was good, reminded me of an arcade game soundtrack.
Parker Kelly
>galaxie 500 never understood the hype around them. find them pretty damn boring
Christian Edwards
>hotel books fucking annoying and awful. some guy with zero self awareness complaining about his retarded mistakes. >prurient best power electronics i've heard in a long time. pretty gut sinking. >tragic mulatto 1 good shit. abrasive and immature. >tragic mulatto 2 same as before, but with way better composition. >dna i don't need to say anything about dna >mclusky as someone else on rym put it: "these guys are shitheads and they know it"
>just friends. // songs that arent on anything yet Recently listened to this. I really enjoy it and was shocked to hear his singing on the last song. Wish he had more songs where he done that. +singing +midwest -couldnt understand a few lyrics >bladee // icedancer really good mixtape from bladee. Standout songs are topman, jaws, smartwater, for nothing, be nice 2 me, close and side by side. Had a few filler songs in there which I didn't like too much. Feels like is an awful song and OKK is what it says in the title, just ok. >duster // stratosphere Boring. Had way too many instrumentals which sounded similar. Echo Bravo & Inside Out are the only songs that can hold their own and everything else just sounds like filler. >songs: ohia // the lioness just a beautiful release. Coxcomb red, lioness and tigress are my favourites. >low // i could live in hope same as the lioness, just a beautiful sounding album. favourite by far is sunshine because of nostaligia of my mam singing it to be through my childhood. Apart from that, my other favourites are cut, lullaby, drag and sea. lullaby is such a beautiful, sad song
>Ellende New black metal that releases on friday, but been playing the full preview on youtube three times in a row. >National Park Service something special about this album.. can't quite put words to it. lovely, emotional ambient >Holy Fawn Great mix of sounds. Noisy post/black/doom inspired metal-gaze or whatever you wanna call it. >Blis Great emo record. big dad feels >Godkiller Sweet medieval bm riffs.
reminds me i need to check out duster and unwound other three records you have listened to are nice
The Beatles - The Beatles Rush - 2112 Greta Van Fleet - From The Fires xxxTentacion - 17 xxxTentacion - ?
Zachary Campbell
while not being directly emo, they had an enormous influence on the 90's midwest emo scene.
> boring
the goal of their music is not exactly exhilarating... It's sombre and depressive
Joshua Cooper
Based and drainpilled
>Bladee - Red Light Some of the songs are pretty meh, but most of the album is good. Ecco had some really good features too. >Bones - TheManInTheRadiator Nothing that I really dislike about this, solid. >Immortal - Northern Chaos God's Really good album, listen to it. >Bones - UNRENDERED Some of the songs are forgettable, but it's pretty solid. >Bladee - Eversince Probably his best work both lyrically and production-wise, listen to it.
Daniel Watson
>I felt like listening to "It's Okay To Cry", then "Ponyboy" started and I couldn't stop listening. funny, when I listened to it, I really enjoyed It's Okay To Cry, then Ponyboy started and I couldn't continue listening to such garbage
Whats your fav track from houdini? and why is it night goat?
Oliver Scott
recently discovered Genesis for myself, just finished listening to these 4, don't have much to say besides that i liked it very much. the addition of the flute is absolutely wonderful, makes their music stand out and reminds of In the Hall of the Crimson King my next will be The Lamb, anything else i should listen to, by them or like them?
>Infected Mushroom — Head of NASA and the 2 Amish Boys Used to listen to them a lot. Not sure why I stopped. Decided to check out their latest >Summerset Avenue — Nowhere Near Home Heard one song on it, liked it, checked out the album. It's alright I guess. >Electric Light Orchestra — Out of the Blue A classic >Andrew Jackson Jihad — Only God Can Judge Me >Andrew Jackson Jihad — Christmas Island The end of me listening to their entire discography
Idk I think Haken are overrated as fuck, They're a poor man's Leprous. But Labor Days is one of the greatest hip hop albums ever and I don't care what idiot wants to make straw man "backpacker" ad homs. What'd you think of it?
Juan Nguyen
haken has a few good tracks (cockroach king, the architect, nil by mouth) but i get the "poor man's leprous" thing
Daniel Evans
yeah they aren't shit or anything(The Architect in particular I actually agree is a great song) but definitely. Idk if you've heard the new Darkwater record but if you like melodic prog metal stuff like that steer clear. Darkwater oare fucking shit and their newest album is the worst of the last few years that I've heard.
Check out Caligula's Horse- In Contact, and Psychotic Waltz- A Social Grace for more great prog metal kinda similar to that
you should check out Away With Words pt 1 by angel vivaldi, pretty good instrumental prog metal
Lucas Price
cool man let me know what you think of em either ITT or wherever you see my gay ass trip interesting haven't heard of him/them. Will check it out, thanks
Connor Roberts
>Chico Science & Nação Zumbi - Da lama ao caos Fucking hell this was a brilliant album and was pretty damn ahead of its time (even though the rest of its contemporaries are outdated), especially with the subject matters discussed throughout. Just too groovy! >Portishead - Roseland NYC Live One of the few live albums with versions that tower over the studio sessions. I can never hear "Sour Times" the same again. >Love - Forever Changes Really cute and gorgeous album; thought there were some lulls but I really enjoyed the sound throughout. >Mobb Deep - The Infamous A re-listen of an album I didn't put too much thought into at the time of my first listen and I cannot believe how much of an idiot I was for not paying attention. One of the more understated classics in rap.
Good choice with the Labor Days — it'll always hold a place near and dear to my heart. recommended me Illogic's "Celestial Clockwork" that I thought was pretty killer as well. What'd you think of the Andrew Jackson Jihad? Also +1 for ELO. It still amazes me that Mark Hollis went from run-of-the-mill synthpop to two of the most seminal post-rock albums ever. Although I'm more of a Colour of Spring guy myself. I thought OIL OF aged really poorly for the most part, save for the closer.
forgot to include this >The Ex + Tom Cora - Scrabbling at the Lock I first checked The Ex out after being recommended their collab with Getachew Mekurya (which in and of itself is fucking A1, listen to it if you haven't already). Good album, but very front-loaded in my opinion.
top 10 cuz why not Four phantoms is ok, I'd rather listen to other funeral doom Zrcadlení Melancholie is the best DSBM album loveless is meh, but I was feeling like listening to it, idk why The key is also meh, great atmosphere though Dirge is fucking great, one of the best modern grind albums I've heard Retaliation is the best thing Peter Steele has ever done Living in Darkness is great but I hate the vocals. They're boring Mingus Ah Um is incredible, but I prefer Black Saint and the Sinner Lady Transcendence[...] is pretty cool, I wish more death/doom was like it instead of being gothic crap Rock Bottom is my favorite album of all time infester is great dna is also great I keep forgetting to listen to prurient. It's been on my backlog for almost a year now
Listen to Steve Hacket's solo album Voyage of the Acolyte, and of course A Trick of the Tail
Carson Powell
The Infamous is a hip hop masterpiece dog Wormrot are a fantastic grindcore band. Check out Wake- Sowing the Seeds of a Worthless Tomorrow
Christian Baker
Not too crazy about their new stuff. I really only liked a few songs off Christmas Island and Bible 2. They went WAY too low-fi(?) for my taste. I liked most of Candy Cigs to Knife Man.
Jeremiah Thomas
God I wish I listened to the Beatles chronologically. Going from Please Please Me to Abbey Road would have been an amazing experiance to see hoe they evolved musically.
Josiah Green
Andrew Jackson Jihad lost me as a fan when they cucked themselves and gave in to bullshit fan complaints and changed their name to AJJ. For a politically motivated punk band with a name that pushes the same ideology that the liberals who whined about it have(And the correct ideology at that; Andrew Jackson was a murderer) It really fucking pissed me off that they caved in on that.
I can separate art from artist so I still listen to People Who Can Eat People and Capguns and love those records to death, but they'll never be the same and they lost a lot of respect in my book

I'll do 8 cause fuck it >In Rainbows First couple of times I listened to it, I just thought it was decent. Now I love it think it's easily my favorite Radiohead album even though I have a disposition to much of their work. 9/10 >The Magnolia Electric Co. Another gem that introduced me to Jason Molina's work and the Alt-Country genre. Though I prefer the tracks where Jason sings, it's still great overall. Farewell Transmission is a masterpiece opener. 9/10 >Kid A I relistened to Kid A after realizing how much I love In Rainbows. I was mixed the first 10? times I've listened to it, but I guess it's OK. Too many "meh" tracks for me. Though I really love Motion Picture Soundtrack. 6/10 >Apes of the State - This City Isn't Big Enough I don't really listen to Punk, but this was a pleasant surprise. 6/10 >Editors - The Back Room I think it's an overlooked Post-Punk Revival album. Fingers in the Factories is a great track. 7/10 >Illinoise Relistened to this and enjoy it as much as I did before. 8/10 >Amber Run - 5AM Decent Britpop/Pop-rock. Worth a listen if you like the genre.6/10 >Interpol - El Pintor It's good and all, but I genuinely hate how Interpol have yet to even match their debut's amazing quality. 7/10
>Them Are Us Now Pleasant surprise. It's not just 80s worship it's 80s worship of bands I like. Marilyn is a very catchy song >Psychocandy yep exactly how I remembered it >Codeine why haven't I gotten into slowcore yet part 1: not the first slowcore I've listened to but I've really been pulled to this genre recently. This one is noisier and more angular (more Slint-like I suppose) than I expected which was very welcome. New Year is beautiful >Carissa's Wierd why haven't I gotten into slowcore yet part 2: ok I've been putting this one off because tags say chamber rock which is a genre that hasn't really wowed me but that's irrelevant here. great album >Bluetile Lounge why haven't I gotten into slowcore yet part 3: I really really liked this one, felt the length of each song allowed them to really breathe. The Weight (and the Sea) and Ambered are gorgeous.
>>The Stone Roses - ST >80/100 >>Oasis - What's The Story Morning Glory >35/100 I actually really like both albums but have yet to check out Pulp. Guess I should really get on that.
