No. Start with Ornette Coleman and Albert Ayler.

he’s already into euro free jazz so it’s better to give him some slightly deeper cuts than fucking coleman.

Free jazz is about feeling though, so it's a redundant comment to say that Coleman is more soft. If you think that Coleman is too soft you should check out his Science Fiction or the titular Free Jazz album. Also, saying Euro free jazz is again redundant since most of the best players including Coleman played there extensively.

euro free jazz is a subgenre of free jazz, idiot. are you the kind of person who thinks krautrock can only be made by germans

No, they're both regional scenes not a subgenre.

both started as regional scenes and grew into their own subgenres. you should cease commenting before you continue to embarrass yourself.

Okay, kid.

sure thing, “coleman is so harsh omg have you heard free jazz”

Thanks for all the recs guys, i will get to listening. also that video that posted is incredible. if anyone else has similar videos that would be awesome

The Free Jazz album is harsh comparatively to many free-improv releases even today, and it laid a groundwork for many other releases which are associated with the FMP label. I don't know why this is considered an illogical thing to say, when Free Jazz is performed by a very large ensemble, by the standards of the bebop/free jazz/free improv afair. Eric Dolphy alone as a performer is extremely energetic and often improvises harshly with overblown notes and a fast pace just on normal post-bop stuff. Again, I must stress that this isn't supposed to be a competition on what is the most aggressive, but if you think that Free Jazz isn't harsh, I must insist that you are wrong, or not looking at the bigger picture.

Thank you.

if you think free jazz and eric dolphy are harsh you are the definition of a tourist

>Caring about the "harshness" of free jazz

Newbie rockist scum itt

No, you're the definition of a tourist for trying to make this conversation into a pathetic competition and disregarding logic. Your levels of presumption are staggering. I own free jazz stuff that hasn't even been uploaded on the internet.

This.

lol why you trying to pick a fight with this dude look at this nu-Yea Forums over here
Bet he doesn't even listen to jazz

you’re the one who started this by going on about le epic free jazz album when i recommended more euro free jazz albums similar to the one OP posted. keep jerking off to how wacky and crazy and dissonant coleman is dude.
tell that to the guy going on about me claiming coleman was “too soft” when i didn’t say shit about his playing style or albums.
