naw, it just smells like it is

Yes
The music peaked, the aesthetic isn't cool anymore, it'll be completely dead in the 2020s

I can only hope so.

It was always dead

it was already dead 5 years ago

It was never alive

wat is ded may never dieded

Vaporwave isn't dead, it's thriving. Only normies think it's dead. It's had new genres added, it's own record label and charities even host limited edition vinyl releases. It's a small niche genre, but not dead.

This.
The only difference now is that artists are ripping it off.
That's just made a massive reaction to vaporwave online though. People want dirty EDM again.

>vaporware is now nearly 10 years old

Feels weirder now than it did back then too.

So has the genre that emerged from around 2014 - 2016 from vaporwave been given a name yet?
I think the next step would be to combine this sound with early 90's EDM (house and breakbeat).

its not dead if we are still talking about it

Usually breaks or full of noisy and often provocative sounds. It's not a genre, just a description of the type of EDM.
Vapor is very clean and nice, it's the opposite.
