Fuck off frog, weak bait
France had a spate of decent Garage/French House between '95 and '05, I'll give you that.
But the trend soon waned.

Now all France produces is the same continental Euro-trap shit that Spain, Italy, and Germany put out. Spotify and Soundcloud are riddled with two-bit French rappers spitting their malcontented wine breath over tired reiterations of the same Garage formula or cheesy mock-ups of American boombap or drill. Every other nation I've mentioned has a better dance pedigree than the French and that isn't saying much.

reaction images and just replying 'lol' aren't arguments, retard

congrats france is great at making the best trash

>not reading my post where I clearly state a spate of good French House/Garage between '95-'05

Cassius' best work is 1999 and came out in... 1999... anything past Au Reve in 2002 is trash, 15 Again is all over the place

Mr. Oizo's opus is Analog Worms Attack from '99 - Lamb's Anger is an interesting but pretty inconsistent album from 2008. Beyond that his career has been lacklustre. Did you hear his 20th anniversary Flat Beat EP released the other day? Or that EP he released with Charli XCX? Godawful

Alan Braxe's The Upper Cuts and most of his singles preceding it are classics - In Love with You in particular has glorious production. He has released nothing interesting since and you can link if you think otherwise.

Fred Falke is formulaic nu-disco trash and is a derivative of the decade of French House that actually mattered

Etienne de Crecy is the guy who started it all and his Super Discount series is excellent... which came out in '04. Super Discount 3 which came out in 2015 is misplaced nostalgic pop trash that attempted to jump on the 80's retro hype of disaffected millennials. Beats n' Cubes '11 is hyper-aggressive and tasteless, aimed more at combating the contemporay boom of big-room and electro-house/brostep.

Demon is fine, bland for my taste but Midnight Funk '99 is competent. His last significant release was '04 and was disappointing.

Did you mean Alex Gopher? Too bad he's just an off-brand Etienne de Crecy with cheesy guitar twiddling and formless synth noodling that sounds like a bad rendition of every '70s new-age album you've heard. Terrible vocoder work to boot.

DJ Sneak's best work is his debut from '96 and he's from Puerto Rico lel

You're not making a case for France being a consistently good production hub for electronic dance music, not to mention that all of these artists roughly fall into disco-inspired French House. That's not a healthy diversity of talent and style.

o shit i responded to the wrong post
my bad dude lel, that's enough Yea Forums for today

not familiar with french hardcore, will listen :)

haha I wasn't disagreeing with you was just commenting on someone elses post on other great French artists. And yeah i was agreeing with you that the French Touch era was great but they haven't been able to re-capture that kind of feeling out side of a few acts like phantoms revenge, les loups, and galactik knights with two of those groups only being half french lol. Also you might like Axel le baron but he has been unactive since around 2014 i think.
also are you familiar with any of the blackjack crew with superfunk and fafa monteco not as good as the crydamoure or roule guys from the time but still some great tunes!

>thinking Madeon is bad

yeye i realised my mistake, i got too into thinking about it

not heard of Axel le Baron but thanks for the rec. also those hardcore tracks are really good, the Bad Taz particularly grabbed my attention. Use of syncopated claps reminds me of Para One on Epiphanie which I really like

I'm familiar with Blackjack and they have some good tunes, again thanks for the hardcore recs!

>he's using a LAUNCHPAD to purposefully limit his production so he can play it live for a youtube video AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH truuuuuly a masterpiece

Country music is the worst thing to happen to EDM

das right
fuck those guitar players who purposefully limit their production so they can play it live

Honestly not much of a fan of them. I feel like pheonix is a better band/electroinc group.

I also can't do a handstand whilst I shit on myself

Although I do give them the credit of being at the forefront of house in its' early days

>culturally relevant guitar players not using a myriad of effects pedals, mixers and loops and still playing like they're at Woodstock

hoo boi

Can I give a shoutout to my man Danger? His early shit was dope. I still jam out to 00:001 and revolted at 22h10

And yet a guitar will always sound like a guitar. No sound design or production needed, while you can make whatever you want with electronic sounds.

Danger is based, also Sebastian. Total is an absolute banger of an album

just like Koreans are gods at video games, france is GOD of modern music

soundcloud.com/else-official/else-mirage

Why do you need EDM when you have EBM
youtu.be/MXSB6FjfBz0

>a guitar will always sound like a guitar
So guitar work in shoegaze/black metal/berlin school compositions sound the same as an acoustic folk guitarist do they? Get outta here

>No sound design or production needed
context dependant. see above

it's OK (haha geddit) you like terrible cheesy EDM that neither sits comfortably in a club or in a lounge. If you're gonna represent madeon at least come at me with some Lematire goddamn

The only song of Sebastians I heard was the Danger remix of Divine. Great track! I'll need to get some more Sebastian in my life.

Very good album

Also if you can get your hands on The EP Collection do so. Excellent limited release but it's not on youtube. Steal it somehow
