Road trip

hey all

im a lil new to the board and ive got an 8 hour road trip in front of me, putting together a playlist of the Yea Forums essentials. pic related and king crimson's debut would be two examples.

drop an album below you think any Yea Forums frequenter should have listened to at least once, ive got nothing but time on my hands.

(i realize how circle jerk this thread may become, so just suspend any judgements for my lack of knowledge and just help a boy out)

OK. Second time I’m posting this pic on Yea Forums today but I don’t care. You. Have. To. Listen. To. This.

Modest Mouse - This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About

Not only is it an absolute alternative rock essential, it’s practically already made for road trips. Hope you’ll love it.

protip noted, thanks my man

its about time i revisited radiohead, thank you

also i tried death grips awhile ago before i started appreciating the avant-garde stuff, couldn't find the rhythm. i want to get back into them, any tips on how to better absorb/appreciate their work?

Also I know it’s not necessarily Yea Forumscore but my god is it an awesome album in every way. Y’know, don’t always have to listen to what everyone else is listening to.

this the kind of enthusiasm im looking for, huge thanks my dude

gearing up for this one

XO Don’t forget your dramamine user

loveless is one of the few Yea Forums essentials i actually am familiar with, that could be great for a drive

also heard raving reviews about pet sounds

all added to the list, thank you

lol the guy sold you the total wrong Modest Mouse album. You'll probably want to turn it off after the first track. When that happens, put on Lonesome Crowded West instead

Check out Laughing Stock. Also Spirit of Eden, also by Talk Talk.

not Yea Forumscore but listen to now i am become by tonstartssbandht

course, i like a personal hit as much as the next guy. Yea Forums essentials was just to get the crowds out here for the thread, but ill always value and appreciate an album that has personal relevancy to someone with zero regard for how much clout it carries in the community. my favorite album is a sabbath album that critics and fans alike consider one of their worst, but i love it for the time during which i heard it. a period of personal growth. cleansing rain and yadda yadda yadda.

your suggestion is 100% welcomed, and i gotchu on the dramamine. thanks again

im open to everything, your suggestion's as valid as the other

ill check em both out

this

Death Grips - Exmilitary
Kendrick Lamar - TPAB
Animal Collective - MPP
Burial - S/t
Have a Nice Life - Deathconsciousness
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
The Beatles - Revolver/Sgt. Pepper
Madvillain - Madvillainy
Aphex Twin - SAW 85-92
Boards of Canada - Music has the Right to Children
Sun Kil Moon - Benji
Joanna Newsom - Have One on Me
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
GYBE - Lift Your Skinny Fists/ F#A# Infinity
Flylo - Cosmogramma
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Bjork - Post
Kamasi Washington - Le Epin
These too.
That'll get you on the ground floor of like 80% of the shitposting on Yea Forums and guarantee you'll have universally derided taste.

>gybe!
i feel like depending on your mood gybe! is either perfect for a roadtrip of for the end of times

I'm Okay buddy, you're a bit too goofy. Here:

That's the download link to every album Yea Forums talks about regularly

Do me a favor and listen to Patti Smith - Horses. It's my favorite album. Thanks.

>fishmans-long season
Yep. That's what I was going to rec.

ahhh ill always have love for the handful of albums that accent my taste/personality; i'll never go as far as to allow Yea Forums to turn me into just another 'best of' peddler

just lookin to get educated, and i value the opinions here under the guise of anonymity over a paid-and-planted critic

huge additions to list, many many thanks.

Believe it or not, but I’ve actually never listened to a single Black Sabbath record front to back but I guess It’s about time I checked them out. Will definitely start with the one you said you like the most!

ill check this one out, added
thanks

BTW mean much?

hahahaha i'll take it with a grain of salt when I listen to it

thanks my man

>just lookin to get educated
Oh, I thought you were looking to get into Yea Forumscore.
Here's a chart with tasters in a bunch of different genres. If the mood strikes you and you feel like trying something different, it's a good jumping off point for becoming a tourist.

Attached: AmeChart.jpg (1905x4920, 2.08M)

i was gonna say

woah hold on now, i wouldn't start there. that album only means so much to me because i've followed them for years, and this was their turn-of-the-decade, we've-been-on-drugs-for-too-long album that most bands start to veer off into. this was the album right before the last when ozzy was essentially kicked out of the band for his recklessness.

i'd always say start from the beginning, because the journey is magnificent, but i'd start with master of reality. all-around stellar.

Homestuck discography

damn i dont think i'll have enough time to hit everything on that list, but saved for the next handfuls of time I'll be alone

educated, Yea Forumscore, hahaha you know what i mean

i wouldn't throw digs at yoursel(ves) though, i know this board is on some antics but y'all are a lot more musically-inclined than most places i vist. give yourself some credit, you're all more well-rounded than you think

you sound fucking underage

thank you

Christ, you two are sensitive. Unironically go to reddit where you can only be happy and optimistic

Picrelated

Gotta say I really appreciate how much investment you’re showing in something like this and I'll definitely keep all of that in mind. If you wanna chat for a bit later just add me on discord Sugarpaw#2252
I know Yea Forums isn’t really the right place for doing stuff like this but I just love talking to people about music so much that I wouldn’t wanna never hear from someone like you again :(

Christ, have you ever been to reddit, cuz from what I’ve seen it’s one hell of a fucking cringefest 99% of the time. There’s a difference between acting like a retard and just showing some human decency. Are you implying people can’t be nice to each other on Yea Forums? Fucking listen to yourself. Unironically go fucking screw your grandma. Was that better? Is that how you want people to talk to you?

course, you're all taking time out of your day to help me out. you're not obligated to me. so i see you and i raise you in respect and attention.

i appreciate the appreciation my man, i don't have discord anymore unfortunately

I almost wanna be mad but I know you’re either mentally disabled or you’re just baiting the fuck out of me like I’ve been baiting several people with this stupid nametag thing. So I won’t.
Also, the thread is pretty much ruined now for which I apologize to OP

i really wouldn't answer any of that my man

you'll be a lot happier in life the moment you pick up the rubberneck technique

peek out your car window at the destruction off to the side and the discontent for life that some have. stare too long and you may crash the car as well. i get a glimpse & just keep drivin.

people will be unhappy, and that just as valid a lifestyle as any other. its life, i wouldn't give it too much thought

>implying

It’s perfect for a post apocalyptic road trip where human have regressed back to the nomadic state and are simply scavenging for food left behind

bizarro Yea Forums, i've never seen such a sensitive pocket on this board. elitism is a large part of the culture here, stop whining

damn, that's immersive.

will definitely keep in mind, thank you

Sigor ros is great for that meditative hypnotic state you get in long car rides

Attached: 4278543E-EA04-4DF1-A775-838F4FD6D3EF.jpg (220x220, 5K)

I 100% agree so this’ll by my last post in this thread. Good luck to you on your road trip and if anyone posts here using that nametag, they’re an impersonator.

i definitely should've made that a note when i started the thread, larger emphasis on those meditative / soundscaping albums

this helps, thank you

safe travels my man

big thanks for the help, go check out master of reality or SBS when you finally find yourself in a sabbath mood

don't listen to him im still here for you op :)

ay and if you're still here, i just remembered

one album i want you (all of you) to check out is Hammer of the North - Grand Magus. band's discography as a whole is okay, but this one album blew me off a cliff

cant find a single song thats better than the previous or next on this album. every single song appears to be the frontrunner/anchor that most albums only have one of.

insane nordic/power metal if you're into it.

Nope, that one’s not me.
Also I’ll definitely check them out! I’m from Finland and we love that kinda stuff

good looks
