Wut? It is mostly praised for its composition and concept, and though I guess I can recall some of the Zappa's works that would vaguely remind me of it compositionally, I certainly can't remember anything that Zappa made sounding conceptually even remotely close

Literally his first album bruh

Not really, it was rather a weliveinasociety-core record whereas Deceit's ideas are more about fear, apocalypse and death, so conceptually they are pretty different, but yeah, some of their traits are indeed kind of similar, but I guess only as far as any experimental rock albums' are

Nice deflection attempt friend, we can all pretend you meant something other than the American musical duo intermittently active between 1970 and 2016, composed of vocalist Alan Vega and instrumentalist Martin Rev, but we'd all be lying to ourselves, wouldn't we?

What? The screams are the best part about the album and exactly emblematic of what it's actually loved for since it represents fear of a coming nuclear apocalypse.

The closest albums to this I have heard are Chrome's Half Machine Lip Moves, Massacre's Killing Time and Camberwell Now's The Ghost Trade (Charles Hayward founded this band after This Heat)

Based and redpilled

Blackpilled

Its more "punk" than Zappa, surely. Theyre like a generational update to the Canturbury scene. Deceit is interesting in that it anticipates the post-rock and math rock sounds that came out of the 90s. Overall, its still more challenging and dissonant than those bands generally were though. I like the chantlike vocal lines, especially in Paper Hats as they're very consonant and agreeable compared to the intentional clash of the atonal screaming. This Heat's first album is perhaps more interesting, however. Not Waving is a brilliant work of art imo.

Hayward also plays on Massacres later albums.

zappa was reddit personified

Calling things reddit is reddit.
