Listening to "Clinging to a scheme" now. Funny, I've always seen this album on Yea Forums but never heard it until now.
It was actually quite hard to get into Pixies. I really liked Where is My Mind but couldn't get into the rest of the Surfer Rosa album so I just YOLO'd it and tried out Doolittle instead. I maybe Surfer Rosa was too "80's sounding" whilst Doolittle definitely had an early 90's vibe that I prefer with my alternative rock. Doolittle also has so much going on. Lots of Emo riffs, some power-pop, some grungy stuff.
But yeah, it took me a long time to be able to enjoy it. Same with Sonic Youths album Sister. I still can't get into Daydream Nation but Sister does it for me.
