Why he lied about the influence of Manowar and Venom?

Why he lied about the influence of Manowar and Venom?

Obviously to look cool. I fucking adore Bathory. I love them WAY more than I like Venom, but lets be real. The first Bathory album is a total knock-off of Venom's "Black Metal," right down to the cover art and some of the same song titles. He lied to look cool. He denied that he was a copy cat because he thought it was the best move for his career.

Venom suck and he was probably embarrassed about liking them at one point

I don't think Venom suck. I just think he was embarrassed of being called a rip-off, so he lied and said he'd never heard of them.

Black Metal record by Venom is one of the best albums of all time. Until that point and on the band became shit and shit

Venom come off pretty goofy, even though their first 3 are GOAT

manowar > anything else

Bathory was a Venom knock-off, but they were better than the original.

>The first Bathory album is a total knock-off of Venom's "Black Metal," right down to the cover art and some of the same song titles.

The Venom album included Teacher's Pet. Which song on the Bathory album is a total knock-off of Teacher's Pet?

>both feature black album covers with white goats heads
>both feature a song called "Raise The Dead"
>both feature a song called "Sacrifice"
>Venom's album contains a song called "Countess Bathory"
>Bathory is named after Countess Elisabeth Bathory
Come on, dude. They're not coincidences. It would be like a band called Sunbather releasing a pink album with a song called "Vertigo" and a song called "Dream House" and then claiming that they weren't inspired by Deafheaven in any way.

And for that "total knock-off" prize, answer the Teacher's Pet question.

Yes, please answer the pedantic twat's question

There is no song as goofy and juvenile as Teacher's Pet. Its obvious that Quorthon took HEAVY inspiration from Venom, but wanted to do it more seriously.

So, the first Bathory album is not a total knock-off of Venom's Black Metal.
You lose, kid.

GVF is not a knock off of Zeppelin then

It has the same album cover and even some of the same song titles. If you're not paying attention, you might even confuse the two at a record store lmao

I don't know what GVF is. No one is talking about Zeppelin.

Pic related is the original cover of the first Bathory. It could not be confused with Venom.

Everybody knows that Bathory was a Venom rip off.

it's boring as hell and the production is dogshit

"My lungs gasp for air,
my eyes scream for sight
I promise the rise of my body this night
I tear at the lid, my fingers they bleed"

Venom 1982

"I gasp for air
I scream for sight
and fight against torment and dread
Calling the vengeance
I tear at the lid and
promise to raise from the dead"

Bathory 1984

Jesus Christ, its worse than I thought. I could never understand the lyrics lol
