I think taking the time to learn an instrument even if you are kind of shitty at it deepens the quality of a persons ability to judge how good or bad music is.
Although, I know people who play guitar who have a terrible ear for key and things like that.
I'm pretty fuckin good at a few instruments but I basically can't stand other people's attitude about it and have never met a musician that I can level with.
Either they have a bad ear, or are overly concerned with "complexity vs simplicity". SOO many people think they are WOKE AF because they understand basic fractions and know OMG fucking METER. Jesus christ get bent.
