I've listened to both of Marnie's solo albums recently and I was really amazed at how little energy and variation her voice has, and the influence it has on the music.

Strange Words & Weird Wars was a lot better than Crystal World but that was more to do with the actual music rather than the vocals. Alphabet Block is a brilliant opener on SW&WW because it has such a positive sound from the off, whereas CW's The Hunter dies on impact. There's definitely some decent parts on Crystal World but it just gets off to such a poor start it threw me for the rest of the album. Strange Words I managed to stay involved in until the halfway point and then I just lost interest in it.
