no it's more industrial. recorded in 1976 so too soon to be post-punk
Parker Howard
>iggy literally invented punk
>does something after that, in a totally new different style considerable for a new genre
>"too soon to be post-punk"
Julian Myers
krautrock
James Perry
>iggy literally invented punk
Umm no sweetie, that would be the Trashmen
Cameron Morris
>iggy literally invented punk
How?
Ryder Campbell
Retard
TVU invented punk
James Gonzalez
I don't know though, I think the industrialism combined with the Iggy Pop sound makes it post-punk. A lot of the songs (Mass Production, Funtime, Tiny Girls) sound like Joy Division before they even existed, it's something about the repetitive rifts
Isaiah Robinson
Trashmen were making music before TVU
Luke Roberts
Art rock
Adam Gutierrez
Trashmen made surf rock and thats it retard
Joseph Moore
It's bad
Colton Barnes
i dont know but its bowie's best album
Joseph Cruz
dark prog
Luis Cooper
He looks like a dickhead on the cover
Adrian Jackson
TVU made psychedelic rock and that’s it retard. Surf music is way closer and more influential to punk
Matthew Rivera
>Run Run Run
>I'm Waiting for my Man

Brody Foster
go listen to all of those songs i posted and tell me they're just psycheldeic rock again
sister ray and i heard her call my name were literal noise rock songs released in 1968
Brayden Bell
Yes, retard, all the first post punk albums came out in 1977, which is the same year that the Idiot came out. Punk and post-punk both blew up at the same time, just because the genre is called "post-" doesn't necessarily mean it came chronologically after that thing.
this man has no idea what he's talking about. Just look up albums of 1977 and you're immediately proven wrong.

Try to tell me this isn't punk and explain how
Juan Jenkins
oh and
you're both wrong, but Trashmongoloid is more wrong. TVU didn't invent punk, the Stooges did, but TVU did heavily influence it, arguably influenced post punk groups more though.
Ethan Edwards
sister ray is fucking easily psychrock, almost in equal proportion to the extent that it's also a noise rock song
I'll give you I Heard Her, though
Wyatt Bell
reminder that iggy made the best proto-punk, punk, art punk, and post-punk records.
Elijah Price
I was somehow tricked by this board to listen to this album. Its so trash
Nolan Lewis
>There are people on Yea Forums who think the trash nigger family guy core band invented punk rock
oh my god the literal state of this board
Lucas Adams

tvu is by no measure 'psychedelic'. not most of their stuff.
different drugs, user.
different drugs.
Jayden Morales
You'd have to be a real fuckin idiot to not think the Velvet Underground is psychedelic. The Exploding Plastic Inevitable was essentially the east coast's acid tests, and the Velvet Underground were Andy Warhol's Grateful Dead. Those people were on acid, man. Lots of acid.
