If someone compares you to James Ferraro, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
If someone compares you to James Ferraro, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
i saw this in the thread but didnt respond
That depends on if you wanted to seem like James Ferraro.
if they mean his vaporwave stuff or human story 3 stuff: bad
everything else: good
Okay well now its its own thread
it's bad for James Ferraro and the person namedropping him but good for you
I thought the Vaporwave stuff was what he was best known for
to plebs, yes
do you really wanna be known for making vaporwave in the 2020s?
no, but it can't be all that bad if that's the stuff everyone likes.
Being compared to someone else is always a sign that you're doing something wrong
his straight to cassette stuff is great
his hi fi stuff is hit and miss
but after skaters those styles are honestly kind of oversaturated
so it depends on what you're making and what you want to achieve
Just post the music here that made the comparison.
how is the person namedropping him effected?
this reminds me more of something off the attitude era or black metal than anything james ferraro
he's the one mentioning James Ferraro in the first place and it makes him look like a pretentious cunt
(it's good btw. keep at it user)
This also got compared to ferraro. It was just something I crapped out for fun tho.
Thank you fren
this fucking sounds like an opener to a 90s spy thriller
I'll take this as a good thing as well.
they're thinking of far side virtual for its use of general midi/in-box presets, i hear it more in this one. but personally like the first one more.
is right and that's not a bad thing. film music is neat.
