Recommend me Yea Forums approved happy albums, and I'll put on a chart!
Figured I'd start us off with some prime happycore in Since I Left You.

the congos - heart of the congos
Nope, didn't realize there was another one.
I'll have to get that chart though, looks nice!
Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons
Nice, although I always liked 64-95 more.
Good thread btw
velocity:design:comfort
I think it’s a pretty happy album but feel free to dispute me.
Realising how sad/neutral my music taste is mood wise.
E-MO-TION
ywnky is more upbeat
Grimes - Artangels
i'm iffy on this one, but I'll let others decide. its definitely borderline
this one I'm going to veto, unless others decide to overrule me (feel free, I easily could be off base and its your chart). Heaven or Las Vegas isn't a happy album.
thanks : )
>Heaven or Las Vegas isn't a happy album.
good judgement OP
Noname - Room 25
George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
Perhaps?
Person Pitch
Paul McCartney - RAM
Definitely happy
Easy
I would consider this a happy album but idk if its Yea Forums approved. Definitely the only good PatD album tho
>Ben Folds Five- s/t
>The Cardigans- Life
>The Jazz Messangers- S/t
>Jens Lekman- Night Falls Over Kortedala
kishi bashi - 151a
kishi bashi - lighght
sugar babe - songs
of montreal - sunlandic twins
the depreciation guild - in her gentle jaws
virginia astley - from gardens where we feel secure
fishmans - king master george
flipper's guitar - doctor head's world tower
cornelius - fantasma
totorro - come to mexico
totorro - home alone
lucio battisti - anima latina
quella vecchia locanda - s/t
happy albums if you dont listen to lyrical content:
of montreal - hissing fauna are you the destroyer
of montreal - skeletal lamping
crying - get olde
also i listen to a lot of jazz when i want to be happy.
agree with this user. vdc has a bunch of lovely upbeat songs (dsco, dedicated, chocolate matter, design 2:3) but its mostly more of an ambient lulling energy.
ywnkw is extremely clean dream pop. darkness is one of my favorite songs
agreed
since I left you
pep-in-your-step core
Forgot to add
>Destroyer- Streethawk: A Seduction
>Coltrane- My Favorite Things
>Liquid Liquid- Optimo
This is like morphine on a warm day
I second Lighght, and add:
Sun Araw - Beach Head
Fishmans - 98.12.28 Otokotachi No Wakare
Masayoshi Takanaka - An Insatiable High
Mort Garson - Plantasia
Dr. Dog - Easy Beat
Ruf Dug - Island
The Strokes - Is This It
see i kinda disagree with later fishmans content since once they got into dream pop it stopped being happy music and started being peaceful music.
Wowee Zowee
Snoop Dogg - R&G
Playboi Carti - Die Lit
The Pillows - Runner's High -
I agree with the exception of the live album specifically, completely changes it all.
have a nice life - deathconsciousness
Solange - Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams
Jadakiss - Kiss tha Game Goodbye
Joe "King" Carrasco & the Crowns - Synapse Gap (Mundo Total)
Burt Bacharach - Best Of
Is this a happy album?
is this?
I don't know, I think the best thing The Congos did was Sun Araw and M. Geddes Genras Meet The Congos - Icon Give Thank
the ultimate contrarian reggae opinion
Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, the Innocent and the E. Street Shuffle
Love that album to death, such a romantic record.
Andrew WK?
It's more the ultimate Sun Araw fan opinion. I just think Stallones adds so much towhatever he's a part of. The man is a god.
Bump!
i am 100% behind this thread, shouts out to the dude who suggested kiss tha game goodbye
Emotion - Carly rae Jepsen
I'd recommend Prince's For You and Walter Wanderly's Rain Forest
there's another Cameron Stallones fan on this board? will you be my bf and let me blow you while we listen to pic-related on repeat?
Of course, his best album in a while. As long as we don't have to listen to Gaurda In Alto. I'm happy to know someone else is a Sun Araw fan on this board, too. Easily my favorite artist.
Plus-Tech Squeeze Box - CARTOOOM!
Ride - Going Blank Again
Kanye West - Graduation
Radiohead - The Bends
Jimmy Cliff - In Concert
Jonathan Richman - I, Jonathan
what's wrong with Guarda in Alto? it's pretty good
One spot left!
candy claws - ceres and calypso in the deep time
His worst out of the whole discography. His minimalistic turn in production was great and has never been boring at all, but with Guarda In Alto, he made everything so sparse and difficult to grasp that it became just a long collection of moog notes. I love every single thing else He's ever made, but I just honestly can't stand Guarda in Alto.
Temporex - We Care
*extremely willem dafoe voice*
IT IS ACCOMPLISHED
Alright, here's the official Yea Forums happycore chart, in all its glory - figured I'd switch out that one Sweet Trip album for the one somebody said was happier, if anybody has an issue with that I'll gladly switch it back.
I'd like to keep discussing. Got a discord?
edgygoof#6188
The Bends isn't happy-core you tone-deaf retards
anything stereolab
I agree, the bends shouldnt be on here.
>happycore
>no Odessey and Oracle
Huh? This is terrible. Half the albums here deal with somber issues and it would be a stretch to consider them happy at all.
Anyway, here's my pick.
Based. Some of those albums are bittersweet at best.
The Bends?
i never thought of stereolab as an overwhelmingly happy band. many of their songs are upbeat yes but they also have many melancholy, angry or brooding ones ones
Need for cheese - Barbie
This is dogshit and I hope nobody is braindead enough to actually share this.
