I mean I think it's different for every band/recording. For king crim I feel like the jammier/more improvisional, even sloppier but more raw quality of the live recording really works well with their songwriting. Some of their studio stuff (particularly mid to late form crimson) is just way too sterile. Like just listen to this side by side with the album version

this chart is very aesthetically pleasing

It has good combo of sophisticated electronica, ambients, progressive guitar music,
heavier subgenres of metal, synths and even some poppy bits from Japan. I'm gonna update it sometime in April since i'm exploring at very fast pace and i'm finding like 5 bands a day that i want to add but don't know what i should swap out.

We just make chart threads and share them in these threads.
Then people can see them, get general idea what you're into, and recommend you music based on it. I found tons of good music that i enjoyed by just picking random nice looking covers from people's charts. Also some people appreciated my recs and bands from my chart.
