these albums need not always inherently be required for anyone on the basis that they enjoyed one album from a genre. a person might just like one eno album, it doesn't mean they then need to be flooded with the essentials. it can really get in the way and/or ruin a person's perception of what that genre is, by limiting to the same five albums and then if they don't like them they say "ambient sucks" when if you just let people find albums they like, it works better. there is so much music, this board should have new recommendations beyond the essentials at this point but it never, ever changes.

They have some outright sillier albums with the girl on the cover but from what's been uncovered here as I understand it, the girl produced them alone and released them as Bengalfuel. Those few albums aside, they have some brilliant albums like Hodes, Genung, Vermilye or Sadye are great longform ambient sleep albums. Even the newest one with the guy singing on every track is really eclectic and hauntingly beautiful. You have to approach the artist with a sense of humor, if you have seen enough videos you understand there is absurdism there. This goes over the average mu poster's head apparently. Either because you don't get irony or you're too young to grasp the kind of humor. It makes sense to me.
