Hip hop tame impala frank ocean

MGMT - Congratulations is nostalgia fuel for early zoomers

lots of rap, popular radio stuff, music theory kids usually have pretty decent taste. I went to a very white school for 4 years.

probably tylo be chillin

Early zoomer - my taste is considered garbage on this board, but I genuinely enjoy twenty one pilots' original album. Their later works I don't enjoy so much, especially Trench.

Other artists consist mainly of alt-pop eg. Sir Sly and EDEN. Weezer's White Album was pretty good too.

zoomers started in 95 you fucking retard.

I was born mid 2000s and try to pay attention to what other kids listen to.
Girls: kpop, late 2000s/early 2010s pop music, pop punk
Guys: frank ocean, tyler, kanye, brockhampton, travis scott
Weebs: anime/edm/video game music/monstercat
"Alternative" kids: queen, pink floyd, the smiths
of course it varies but that's generally their tastes

this, dubs confirm

WOAH, GRANPAA

>late 90s
>95

isn't anything >95 late 90s? what's your problem here?

It starts 97.

If you live in America and don't remember 9/11 you're a Zoomer

97*

Yes for those 10 year olds on Yea Forums in 2010. What the fuck lol

This chart literally doesn't make since because i am 22 but born on november of 96?

Imagine being this raped by facts.

Just got out of high school 2 years ago, this is pretty accurate. My go to opener for talking to girls was music, and it was always kpop dude

I love the Beatles!
also what’s a good album from this decade? need to hear one before it closes?

open.spotify.com/album/5Uqr9HijtwkKuys0kc76t4?autoplay=true&v=L

>I was born mid 2000s
heh

I'm 28 and probably way better at blops2 than you

Other Life - Sean N. Savage

What's the generation that was right before this?

Am I millenial or a zoomer if 9/11 happened when I was in kindergarten? I'm honestly not sure which one is worse.

Depends. Some samples based on my roommates and my friends, which do not represent a good set of the population.
>most guys that aren't weirdos listen to lo-fi hip hop beats and soundcloud rap, most girls listen to pop and soundcloud rap
>a bunch of guys listen to symphonic metal and old school metal
>one dude is super into stoner, doom and gothic metal
>one guy I know is essentially a /bleep/ conoisseur
>his best friend is a huge jazzfag
>a lot of "quirky" girls listen to music somewhere between MCR and Twenty One Pilots
>some dudes are stoners and listen to psych and lo-fi indie
>I myself am the sort of weirdo that listens primarily to classical music, soul and post-hardcore
>one dude I know absolutely loves noise rock
It's a non-zero sample, but it's a pretty weird sample that does not represent reality in its entirety.

See here

the real answer is that there is no one overarching answer

the absurdly easy access to music through things like streaming services have made it so people often develop their own taste independent of what's been popular on the radio/in their friend circles, which is the way it's been in the past. Sure, there's popular bands, genres, etc., but these are simply options, not the only thing that you can listen to. That's why I'm especially excited to hear music from people who grew up in this generation (of which I am a part of), because the incredibly wide and disparate influences/musical tastes that people have will lead to a lot of unconventional ideas.

Hey ya!
Mainly because it reminds me of better days when I was a kid

i meant oracular spectacular

A lot of people seem to be going full retard with regard to "zoomers". Zoomers are born after 2000. Saying that someone born in 1995 is a zoomer is the most fucking retarded thing I've ever heard. Also Halo 3 is not a zoomer game you fucking dumb niggers. You people are so detached and culturally unaware its fucking hilarious.

inb4"t. zoomer"

Zoomers are 97 and up, i.e. too young to remember 9/11.

Zoomers are basically acknowledged by most people to have been born in the late 90's. The matter of when is still under discussion, but it's pretty much acknowledgeable that by 1998 they are almost definitely Zoomers.

>Zoomers are born after 2000.

t. born in 1999

Zoomer here, mostly Have a Nice Life, Lil Ugly Mane and Grouper

>there are people who simply don't have memories of a world without social media

Attached: denki19.jpg (600x800, 76K)

early zoomers actually do have this, but anyone after about 2003-2004 doesn't. i didnt use any social media until i was 14-15 or so, since the presiding philosophy at the time was gen x'er parents saying that the internet was scary and your kids shouldn't go on it (compared to the more freeform millennial philosophy now). I know about it now obviously, but I didn't "grow up" with it which I think makes for an interesting perspective that middle and late zoomers wont have

Nope, born in 95. Nice try though, faggot.

I miss the days when normies were actually afraid of the internet.

Attached: internet.jpg (870x734, 411K)

Cringe image, shaking my head to be honest family

I know, it's "cringe" now, but back then that was unironic and was real.
The world has changed a lot.

yea being in the extremely small subset of people who grew up on newgrounds, youtube poop, and the general awkward middle child era of the internet (2005-2011 or so) is one of my most cherished characteristics

Oh my god shut up. 2005-2011 was normified internet you zoomer. You missed out on cooler pre-2005 internet.

2005 is when I start drawing the line of when the internet started to lose its soul.
Myspace and youtube started around then.
At least we enjoyed the golden era of Megaupload and direct downloads in those days, I guess.
late 90s/early 00s internet was my thing. Very few normies. Most of them were afraid that they'd get their computers "hacked" if they ventured outside of Yahoo Mail. Good times.
Now everyone go around doing whatever they want and if they get insulted or something they start the "I'm offended" game. Not fun anymore.

BBBes are the only acceptable form of internet.

born early '01 and I have poseur taste

Attached: topsters2 (9).png (1767x1680, 1.05M)

my gf was born in 2000, and i'm 30.

she likes yma sumac

watch out guys, millennials are boomer-posting now about boring ass geocities sites and the "edgy" phase of the internet

I really dig Vessel and their newest album, production is tight. Don't know about their middle album but it seems like pop trash then again thats what 21 pilots is lmao

wavves, vampire weekend, early death grips, tame impala, early kendrick, early chance the rapper

i was born in 1997 and i like trout mask replica

And it somehow bothers you? Why?

fellow zoomer here. born 2000.
I like Jim O’Rourke, Joanna Newsom, bedhead, pavement, slint.
most of my “music” friends like brockhampton, smiths, beatles, idk anime openings.

t. zoomer 2000s kid born in 1995

lmao fucking disgusting
people with taste played tribes, battlefield 1942 etc
HALO was for mexicans and niggers and white trash

born in early 2000.

Attached: funfunchart.jpg (2009x1680, 657K)

Oracular is more a millennial thing.

Nice taste. Don't see 10cc mentioned much. Very underrated.

I'm a zoomer and I like IDM/ambient/techno shit. I also have no friends.

oh yeah and that second album should be Age of Adz, no idea how it got lopped off

97 is unquestionably zoomer

where are you getting these silo safety infographics from

what silo safety infographics

Attached: 1611fig04.jpg (500x454, 58K)

Not him, but you must be out of the loop not knowing where to get silo safety infographics. No, I will not spoonfeed you. The search is its own reward. Once you evolve beyond entry level, then we'll direct you to some trading clubs.

Nice one. From Bill in Lincoln?

now I'm going to say "the one's you keep posting" and then you're going to say "I'm not posting any pictures" as you continue to post them and it'll hit the bump limit
god

This is pretty much the taste of my fellow music buds

97 and up is a Zoomer

If you're going by whether they can remember 9/11 then yes. If you're going by whether people born that year are more nostalgic for 2007-2009 or for earlier then no.

literally pic related.
Zoomers really cannot find music outside of charts, can they?

Attached: poseurcore.jpg (2880x2275, 1.95M)

I was born in early 1997 and I clearly remember September 11. I remember I didn't even go to kindergarten that day because while it was sunny in NY it was raining heavily where I live, so classes were suspended. I watched every fucking minute of that shit with my grandma and drew the burning towers for about a year after.

You will be 23 by the end of 2019 you moron.

You were in Kindergarten at 4 years old? Your story sounds like some sort of shill.

Get banned, underage scum.

what's it like being a pedophile?

She's not even underage, but what's wrong again with dating 18-13 year olds as long as they consent?

I'm not ashamed to admit I discovered a few of my favourite albums through this chart

>it's not pedophilia but even if it was.....
holy shit are you even reading what you type??

I went to kindergarten when I was 4 too. NOVEMBER BABIES RISE UP

Attached: AD48B0E1-E67F-418D-A17E-6FB7628BCA0B.jpg (600x600, 54K)

Pedophilia is attraction to prebuscents, which are below 12.

In chart threads I see maybe 3 or 4 of these albums spread throughout different charts throughout the whole thread. How is it poseurcore if barely anyone on here puts it on their charts or even mentions them by name.

youtu.be/75XKGVwGEt4
You’re obviously very young and can’t comprehend basic human biology

>hebephilia
holy shit??? are you even????? reading??????? what you type?????????????????

No, you still turned 5 the year you entered kindergarten like everyone else.

Nothing wrong with hebephilia as long as it's consensual.

>consent
holy shit??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Good taste. Have you listened to Skee Mask's last full length? I'm into a lot of idm/etc. as well and that's been really refreshing my taste for the style.

Also sorry to hear about your friend situation. It can be rough not to have people around when you'd like company. Will be prayin for ya

youtu.be/Y8B_a0ZHNj8

Millennial here, can confirm. It's very end of high school for me

I'm??????? Literally????? Fuming ?????????

Go back to tumblr

>Tumblr
what's that????????????? I only use Yea Forums and YouTube????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Prog, new wave, and Leonard Cohen, personally.

i'm such a 90s kid haha xD SIKE

Leave Halo3 out of this, the fuck.

Every active Halo 3 player is at least 25+, go on twitch now and find me a single zoomer.

seething almost as much as when I reported your videos for copyright violation

I was a kid when I first heard Kids and Time to Pretend so true

Yeah, same. I have a strong picture of changing tv channels and having the same video looped on every single one of them.

jazz, hip hop, r&b, french house, nudisco. born 00 but i think generations are a meme

holy shit guys nobody cares about the specific years, i don't get this nonsense of like "aight if you were born after Dec 19th 1996 5:36pm CST you have [x] traits and if you weren't you have [y] traits", just enjoy what you enjoy and be nostalgic for whatever it is you're nostalgic for lmao you don't need memes to validate that for you

yeah hey ya to me is like peak 2000s, very good song

somewhat agree, people also forget that depending on the region many didn't adopt social media at all until later years. i've only been using the internet since 2007 but even back then most people in bumfuck tennessee weren't *expected* to have a facebook, twitter, etc. like they are now, i never really saw people adopting that until the '10s

it shouldn't matter, imo what we grew up with is kinda nostalgia-worthy in its own way. actual decent ui/ux design, neopets, old youtube, and echos of '90s internet site design sprinkled in everything.

big f for megaupload

considering i was at least well aware of the site back then i wouldn't doubt if it actual 10yos were posting, hell i don't think i'd doubt it if actual 10yos were posting today

based genres fellow 00'er

96er here with my hot take: people born in the late 90s up to ~97 can be either a millennial or a zoomer depending on their upbringing. I have an older brother who was born in 1990 and I found myself hanging out with him and his friends playing pokemans or magic rather than hanging out with my plebian friends who couldnt stop sperging out over yugioh and beyblades

>I found myself hanging out with him and his friends playing pokemans or magic rather than hanging out with my plebian friends who couldnt stop sperging out over yugioh and beyblades
to me it's not a generation thing, it's just a "what you grew up with" thing. even my 10yo cousin who's like textbook definition zoomer happens to be into magic and pokemon. you can be born at pretty much any time and still grow up with those things because they continue to exist. that's why generations work well for observing things over large periods of time, like studying political climate shifts over a century or something, but not very well for this kinda stuff

like take a look at this, this image doesn't really make sense. many early gen y-ers grew up with late "gen x" consoles, many early gen z-ers grew up with late "gen y" consoles, there's a bunch of factors. because of inconsistencies like this there's not really any point in categorizing them. why do i need a meme to tell me what my childhood was like, and why does the year i was born have more to do with it than the actual things i was surrounded by growing up? kinda sucks since i just wanna reminisce about my childhood but you can't really do that without somebody saying "no, this wasn't your childhood because some arbitrary date range says so"

Attached: consoles.jpg (2605x2636, 480K)

I'm an early zoomer (born 2000 in Russia) and I can assure you that it's mostly hip hop. Also a lot of pals here listen to local shoegaze and post-punk, it's called "New Russian Wave". And there is really a small percent of so-called avant teens, truth to be told I am one of them; it was pretty hard to find a music soulmate here before I attended the university. Now we be flexin to dem Nico and Slint and it's all good.

Youre right. Youre taste is garbage

this looks gay, didnt read

ehh to a certain point it's about what you grew up around, but your 10yo cousin will never actually be a millennial let alone begin to relate to actual millennials even if he likes pokeman and magic. I was born in 96 so I sorta ride that line between, but my earliest memories are pre internet and involve playing ocarina of time on an old twist-knob TV with madre in the sunroom on a weekend or watching dragonball, gundam wing, princess mononoke, sailor moon, etc. with my brother.

yeah i get that, my main point though was that *just* your birth year or a couple games you had isn't enough to lump you in with a certain generation and its traits, or rather that what year you were born doesn't perfectly dictate what your childhood was like. also that the point of generations isn't really "here's what you grew up with" and more for big boy research stuff none of us are doing. and also so news outlets have something to complain about. millennial, zoomer, whatever term, it all just means "young people we don't like"

i also had an older sibling (95) which can kinda change things. when you have an older sibling imo it causes a lot of things to echo so you get a different experience than you would've being a first/only child, but as a result i relate significantly more to gen y despite being born in early z (at least by OP's definition, but the definitions are extremely inconsistent which is another reason i think this whole concept is a meme)

how old are you if you don't mind?

oh wait i just noticed you were '96 lmao

Similar age, same country
And I have to add that a lot of local zoomers relate way more to late western Millennials because media took a lot of time to be dubbed into Russian and people were to poor to buy fresh tech shit the seconds they dropped, like, I fully remember having experiences with PS1 and PS2 for my whole ass childhood so this pic does not apply to me in no shape or form

I'm 23 so I just barely qualify as a millennial according to pew.

Jason Aldean - Old Boots New Dirt

Zoomer here, used to listen to Monstercat YouTube dubstep. Recently I've been listening to Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time and alot of ELO's stuff

Even Yugioh and beyblade are also millennial though. Early zoomer would be bakugan.

But 2005 was the golden era of WoW. I'd say 2007 is when it started to get bad.

Does Yea Forums actually have the most underage zoomers of any board or do people just talk about their age more on this board, leading to that impression?

bump

Most of my 17 - 20 year old friends listen to monster cat or rap. I know like 2 of them that listen to something else but otherwise thats all I hear at parties

i like how 2013 is seen as a melancholic, ancient time lol

what’s that game signed "Not this"?

Mid 2000 huezillian here, lately been getting into more recent folk artists (Sufjan, Mark Kozelek)
My close friends are into dad rock, my normie ones like top 40s electronic shit

Plebs need not apply

I was born in 2000, mostly listen to genesis and talking heads
normal people either listen to whatever meme trap is popular at the time or stuff like artic monkeys

Sorry kid
