Squarepusher barely does drum and bass.
It's glitchy electronica now

his best album?

Go Plastic easily. Ultravisitor is a close second, that album is super solid but Go Plastic is just fucking bananas in the best way possible, haven't heard anyone do mental complex 100mph DSP manipulation like on Go Spastic, My Fucking Sound and Greenways.

>drum n bass
no thanks, I'm good

He's not drum and bass.

Squarepusher isn't my favorite artist, and he's released a lot of stuff that I don't care for/haven't listened to. But he put on the best live show I ever saw.

It was this smaller room in 2005, a few hundred people, cool kids dancing on the floor during pregame. Tom walked right past me, I got a beer. Then he sets up with his bass, his laptop, and gets busy. These sick white strobe lights are going the whole time, and the set is largely go-plastic-y stuff. These dudebro frat boys were up front and I don't think they quite knew what they'd got themselves into, but they're going nuts and loving it: "this guy is fucking CRAZY!!!" Crowd is screaming, he does a funky glitchy bass solo or two, and keeps going. Two encores: Come on my Selector/Bonneville Occident (I'd been yelling for the latter). Fucking good show.

Spring Heel Jack
And they're better jazz musicians too.

Did someone say drum n bass?

the guys at the forefront of the drumfunk genre, like dgohn

hard normal daddy, papalon and beep street off that LP are dnb classics

based

new forms was great but the stuff being released nowadays has moved on quite a bit since then, his latest stuff is meh

his old stuff was pretty fun but his last album was mostly uninspired generic crap, bad even compared to the state of neuro at that time

breakcore is cool but there are only like three artists worth shit

youtube.com/watch?v=13HM-bmKW2U

squarepusher is great but he's far from what I'd call the best dnb producer, I wouldn't even call him a drum and bass producer kek

It'd be hard to name a single best producer, as the drum and bass sub genres are so varied, definitely calibre for the chill side, for neurofunk BSE or konflict, Jungle - LTJ Bukem or DGohn, also got to mention DBridge

I really don't get the David Bowie Drum N Bass meme

dGohn is sick, really enjoyed the album he put out last year

DANNY BREAKS!

>Ed Rush & Optical
>Limewax
>Bad Company UK
>Konflict
>Total Science
>Spirit & Digital
>Ram Trilogy
... okay at this point I am just listing favorite artists, but still, for as much as I love Squarepusher, I have never seen him as a DNB producer

It's not a meme, it's a sad attempt

Speaking of DnB, you now remember Photek.
