I hate music because of you. Since I've started to browse this place, I'm unable to have joy or pleasure listening to music. I can only feel anger or discomfort, not only that but you made me hate the band I loved the most, that was The Beatles

Thanks, Yea Forums, because of you I can't even listen to music with my dad without feeling bad

That's your own dumbass fault, it's just memes and semi-serious conversation.

Music is only used to evoke emotions. Different music should evoke different moods. Dunno how you can no longer derive pleasure from an infinite amount of sounds.

>taking Yea Forums seriously

Well, The Beatles DO fucking suck, so there's that.

You're welcome

Fuck this guy, seriously. I'm not the same after reading his rant. That cursed me deeply

Since coming to Yea Forums in 2012 I have a bigger love of music than ever before. I appreciate all kinds of genres and all sorts of experimental music I'd have never loved or discovered without it.

About the only stuff I -used- to like that I don't like anymore is hair metal, which I'm fine with.
Also you're retarded, Beatles made a lot of good music, listen to the White album right now, it's awesome.

if reading one short paragraph rant of a contrarian that most people honestly laugh at for being so pathetic and pretentious is enough to shake you to your core and change you as a person, you are honestly just a weak fucking spirit.

you seem like you would be the perfect victim for a cult group.

I think he was exaggerating bud

>He has no opinions on his own
>Needs /mew/ to tell him what to think
>/moo/ is a single human entity

>he cant handle the bantz
Look fag at the end of the day it doesn't matter what music you listen to and Yea Forums really isn't that elitist these days anyway. You could make a thread right now asking for dadrock or british invasion rec's and you'd get replies.

The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognised that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.
In a sense, the Beatles are emblematic of the status of rock criticism as a whole: too much attention paid to commercial phenomena (be it grunge or U2) and too little to the merits of real musicians. If somebody composes the most divine music but no major label picks him up and sells him around the world, a lot of rock critics will ignore him. If a major label picks up a musician who is as stereotyped as can be but launches her or him worldwide, your average critic will waste rivers of ink on her or him. This is the sad status of rock criticism: rock critics are basically publicists working for major labels, distributors and record stores. They simply highlight what product the music business wants to make money from.
Beatles' "Aryan" music removed any trace of black music from rock and roll. It replaced syncopated African rhythm with linear Western melody, and lusty negro attitudes with cute white-kid smiles.

Bowie died of cancer in january 2016. Not a big loss for music.

the Beatles is overrated grandpa music. if you like the Beatles you are too lazy to form your own opinion of music. I use this board the most and my favorite albums get criticized constantly but I don't care. stop being an npc

congrats you had the pleb purged from you faggot be thankful

Good. The Beatles are overrated anyway

what are your favorite albums, bitch boy?

A lot of opinion are kind of batshit, but I appreciate that he rates this album higher than anything the Beatles ever did. Yes, higher than Sgt. Pepper. Too bad Yea Forums hardly ever talks about these guys.
