2004 was pretty shit

2019.

So far, absolutely.

However, 1976 seemed pretty shit. Somewhere inbetween leftover Hippie consumerist bullshit, and the end of the first “Classic Rock” era. Only genre that were exiting fresh stuff that year were probably Reggae and prog shit. Maybe some funk. But considering punk hit in 1977, i think that 75-76 needs some careful consideration as the shittiest period of modern music. 2011 was pretty shit as well

>1975-76
>years that gave us Station to Station and Animals
>bad

I think 2006-07 were particularly horrible years.

>1974
This year wasn't that good. I agree.
>1981
Disagree completely, some great stuff came out.
>1992
After the string of massive rock albums in 91, this year was bound to be a letdown.
>2005
Yeah this sucked.
>2011
I don't even remember anything that happened in 2011 musically.

Putting punk aside, I don't think all that highly of 1977. It didn't have as good chart hits as 76 and the mainstream rock was fairly underwhelming.

Did anything good come out in 1989 at all?

>station to station
>animals
>good

Ha-haha-HAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!

You must be 18 to use this website.

you don't rate low and heroes? it was a big year for mom rock with fleetwood mac rumors and billy joel the stranger

If you still enjoy Bowie and post-WYWH Pink Floyd, then my age shouldn’t be the one being questioned

Just because it's on a Yea Forumscore chart doesn't mean it's any good. I bet you also think ITAOTS is a listenable album.

1975-76 weren't terribly strong years for albums but fuck if they didn't have some great singles/chart hits.

1997-98 sucked and no it's not because that was when ITAOTS came out.

Disintegration maybe? The chart hits in 89 were especially horrible.

I said underwhelming, not that there were no good albums at all.

probably 2005... i think 05-07 seems like a really empty transitional period, an outpouring of boring indie rock.
I remember 2008 - 10 it felt like things were starting to get good. Was big into Grouper and other people like that were coming up.

05-07 was nothing but an endless parade of horrible 50 Cent copycats.

Random albums I liked from that year: Doolittle, 3 Feet High & Rising, Pretty Hate Machine.Full Moon Fever, that Blue Nile album.
Everybody seems to love the Stone Roses debut and Paul's Boutique though I never cared for them.

>Right Here Waiting
Why did you have to remind me that that song existed? I hadn't heard or thought about it in years and years and now suddenly it's coming back to me.

2018

I will admit that Miss You Much is a guilty pleasure, other than that most of these songs are worthless dreck.

97-98 were another empty-feeling transitional period between grunge and the Britney/boyband/nu metal era.

>I don't even remember anything that happened in 2011 musically.
Sorry For Party Rocking :-D

1981 had some great metal and New Wave releases, it didn't have a lot to offer in terms of pop.

1990 was bleh as well.

97 was amazing for alt rock/pop. Mollusk, okc, radiator, blur s/t

All the years after 1995.

>putting aside 90% of it's good albums, it wasn't very good

>Mollusk, okc, radiator, blur s/t
You are just proving his point, boyo.

What significant happened in 1995?

Julee Cruise saved that year
