buy a cheaper kick pad, I think they're around forty, and those 10in remo pads used to be about twenty, twenty per shitty stand/arm, the real bite in the Barker vid is the low-volume cymbals

I've just been getting really frustrated with my playing. I've been wanting to write songs lately, but I'm not proud of anything I make. It all sounds boring and uninspired. About the only thing I have going for me is my rhythm.

yea, I know some mastodon albums though I don't like it, and listen to opeth, mostly later albums (I liked heritage). I still think that these notes sound too quiet and are what they are - ghost notes. It would be interesting to find anything like my example, where these ornamental notes are played at normal volume deliberately, creating this peculiar rolling sound
